Wiltshire Creative has today been announced as an Associate Partner of Ramps on the Moon, the award-winning Arts Council funded collaborative theatre network.

New Theatre is reopening in November with the Australian premiere of The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold, adapted by Bryony Lavery.

Straight Line Crazy reunites Fiennes, Hare and Hytner who previously collaborated on Beat the Devil at The Bridge in Autumn 2020.  Further casting will be announced at a later date as well as further members of the production team.  Priority booking for Straight Line Crazy opens today at 10am, with public booking opening at 10am on 12 October 2021.

Today, Nottingham Playhouse continues its first full season since the start of the pandemic with three announcements - the award of Theatre of Sanctuary Status, the extension of its digital programme and an addition to its ongoing production work. 

The cast includes Elise Zavou as Red, Maisey Bawden as Mum, Phil Nichol as Granny, Jodie Jacobs as Woody, Ashley Goh as Bo Peep, Raphael Bushay as Wolf and Luke Latchman as Wolfie.

Inspired by a trip to Lourdes and the illness and death of a member of her cabaret group, Bryony Lavery’s play Last Easter is a funny and engaging exploration of life, death and friendship. After June, a theatrical lighting designer, is diagnosed with cancer, her three friends decide that an Easter road trip to France, which just happens to include a pilgrimage to Lourdes, is in order.

Two young people and their dæmons, with everything at stake, find themselves at the centre of a terrifying manhunt. In their care is a tiny child called Lyra Belacqua, and in that child lies the fate of the future. And as the waters rise around them, powerful adversaries conspire for mastery of Dust: salvation to some, the source of infinite corruption to others.

Orange Tree Theatre today announce full cast for the London première of Bryony Lavery's Last Easter. Tinuke Craig directs Naana Agyei-Ampadu (June), Peter Caulfield (Gash), Jodie Jacobs (Leah), and Ellie Piercy (Joy).

With Lucinda Coxon's Herding Cats opening last night at Soho Theatre and via live stream until 22 May, New York-based, Olivier-winning, and Tony-nominated OHenry Productions and Stellar, in association with Soho Theatre, today announce the on-demand extension of the run.

Marking a new type of international collaboration, the production is simultaneously accessible online to audiences across the globe via Stellar and in person, with social distancing in line with current UK government guidelines, at Soho Theatre. Running 20 – 23 May 2021 - with press performance on 20 May, Herding Cats is a Stellar Original production.

Simon Russell Beale will play JS Bach in the world premiere of Nina Raine's Bach & Sons, directed by Nicholas Hytner.  Performances at The Bridge are from 23 June – 9 September 2021 with opening night on 29 June 2021. 

Andrew Whyment is a theatre director and Artistic Director of Squint. He is currently an Associate of the National Youth Theatre and formerly Resident Assistant Director at Leeds Playhouse. Whyment spoke to us about the workshops Squint has been running to help artists continue writing and devising theatre.

15 Heroines is a major new digital project by Jermyn Street Theatre in collaboration with Digital Theatre Plus. Taking Ovid’s Heroides as inspiration they reach back across thousands of years and into the cultures of the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and Africa, the heroines are rehabilitated and placed in a modern setting.

Following the announcement last month that Jermyn Street Theatre has joined forces with Digital Theatre to present the major production, 15 Heroines, today the theatre reveals the full casting for this groundbreaking project.

Today, Birmingham Repertory Theatre has announced 12 new commissions titled The Park Bench Plays a?" a series of micro-plays that illuminate, interrogate and even celebrate today's socially distanced world.
