The Boston premiere of the US National Tour of Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY opened at the Boston Opera House this week, just a year after the Broadway production closed. The core of the Broadway creative team brings in a 36-member cast, including the beguiling candy man Willy Wonka and the Oompa Loompas, his odd little troupe of orange-haired factory workers.

Audiences are taking a trip to a world of 'Pure Imagination' with Cincinnati's 2018-2019 Broadway Series opener, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, running now through Nov. 4! Based on the beloved children's novel by Roald Dahl, Charlie tells the story of a young boy who dreams of one day becoming a chocolatier.

The chocolate factory is coming to a city near you! Full dates and cities have been announced for the upcoming North American tour of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The tour will launch at Shea's Performing Arts Center in Buffalo, NY, before bringing Wonka's world of pure imagination to previously announced engagements in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto and more. Casting will be announced at a later date.

The show features Aaron Alcaraz, Nicholas Barasch, Alana Cauthen, Grace Choi, Karl Josef Co, CJ Eldred, MaryJoanna Grisso, Cory Jeacoma, Noah Plomgren, and Brynn Williams. 'Broadway Celebrates New Musical Theatre' will bring to light the importance of new musical theatre writing and provide a platform for hopeful writers to work with a group of professionals to showcase their work in front of a larger audience.
SPONGEBOB Will Close On Broadway This Fall

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical, the critically acclaimed, award-winning new musical will conclude its Broadway engagement at the Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway at West 47th Street) on Sunday, September 16, 2018, due to previously planned theatre renovations beginning mid-September. Early in 2019, school and youth group licensing rights will be available, with professional licensing to follow. Additionally, a North American tour will begin fall 2019 (cities, venue engagements and casting to be announced at a later date). The production, which began previews on November 6, 2017, and opened on December 4, 2017, will have played 327 regular performances and 29 previews.
Broadway Comes Together At The Gershwin To Benefit Autism Speaks

Back for its 3rd consecutive year, Arts for Autism, a benefit concert to raise money and awareness for Autism Speaks, will take place at 7:30 on June 25th at the prestigious Gershwin Theatre. The biggest names of Broadway join performing arts students from across the country to use the power of musical theatre to promote inclusion, understanding, and community. After raising $81,000 in its first two years, Educational Travel Adventures and Believe NYC are thrilled to announce this year's show will be bigger than ever, hosted by Hamilton superstar Chris Jackson, who himself is a parent of a son with autism. Artistic Director of the show Jacque Carnahan seeks to illuminate the profound power of music. Music not only entertains us, it heals us.
