Continuing the 43rd Season of Dunwoody's very own professional theatre, STAGE DOOR PLAYERS presents the return of the Suzi Bass Award winning holiday comedy, Let Nothing You Dismay by Atlanta's own Topher Payne. Shannon Eubanks directs. The show opens on Friday, December 2, and runs through Sunday, December 18. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 2:30pm. In a story about friendship, fate and fortitude, two farmhands wander through California's Salinas Valley, leaning on each other to find their way in this powerful adaptation of John Steinbeck's quintessential novel, OF MICE AND MEN. The esteemed Jenny Lord of The Juilliard School will direct Serenbe favorites Daniel Parvis and Blake Burgess, cast as George and Lennie, the iconic duo of witty small guy and loafing giant. View lush Serenbe, transformed to a working farm of the depression-era dustbowl, with live horses wandering about the rustic barn and stark minimalism artfully at play. The bucolic barn setting lends itself to an interpretation that is all about relationships - stripped of material means and in the direst of circumstances, watch as two men overcome seemingly impossible odds to reach their destinies.

Over the course of the show both come to realize how important they are to each other, and how a place known as 'home' can drive a wedge between two people and ultimately bring them back together.

Serenbe Playhouse continues it's 5th anniversay season, A Season of Journeys, with the world premiere of Ten Mile Lake, by Tira Palmquist. To celebrate Serenbe Playhouse's fifth anniversary, titled a Season of Journeys, three unique and groundbreaking productions will take audiences on three unforgettable excursions into the imagination. But even before the shows start to fill the skies and hearts of Serenbe, today, May 17th The Playhouse will host their annual gala, and this year patrons will get to take a trip over the rainbow to help support The Playhouse.
