PigPen Theatre Co. Offers Free Tickets to THE OLD MAN AND THE OLD MOON for Displaced Hurricane Victims

The critically acclaimed troupe PigPen Theatre Co. has announced that they will be giving away free tickets to their new play, The Old Man and the Old Moon, to those displaced from their homes due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy. As soon as power is restored to the production's venue, The Gym at Judson (243 Thompson Street at Washington Square South), the play will resume performances. At each performance, until all tri-state residents are able to safely return to their homes, twenty tickets will be given away to those displaced by the storm.

SoHo Playhouse Opens 5 LESBIANS EATING A QUICHE Tonight, 10/13

Coming straight off of its extended run at the New York International Fringe Festival Encore Series, The New Colony's award-winning 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche will be added to the SoHo Playhouse, Inc. (15 Vandam Street, New York City) fall 2012 season. The play will hold a six-week run at the SoHo Playhouse from tonight, October 13 to November 20, 2012.

Pigpen Theatre Co. Releases 'Bremen' Album Today, 10/9

Today, October 9 the seven members of the critically acclaimed theater troupe PigPen Theatre Co.-the only company to win top honors at the New York International Fringe Festival two years in a row-release their first album, Bremen, to the general public. First released in April to friends and supporters of the company, the album is a collection of standalone original indie-folk compositions that bear the group's signature storytelling voice and acoustic instrumentations by each of its members. In support of the release, the group will play a series of shows at NYC's Joe's Pub beginning October 15. See reverse for full album and show details.

Tickets Go on Sale for 5 LESBIANS EATING A QUICHE at SoHo Playhouse

The newest addition to the SoHo Playhouse Inc. (15 Vandam Street, New York City) fall 2012 season, 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche, is now selling tickets for its six week run on the SoHo Playhouse Mainstage. A special discount of $20 tickets will be offered for the October 13th-15th preview performances. During the regular playing schedule, $50 premium tickets and $40 general tickets will be available.

STAGE TUBE: PigPen Theatre Co. Debuts 'Bremen' Short as Prelude to THE OLD MAN AND THE OLD MOON

The critically acclaimed troupe PigPen Theatre Co. has premiered its first foray into animation with the short film Bremen, which serves as a companion piece and introduction to the epic world of their upcoming Off-Broadway debut production, The Old Man and the Old Moon, a co-production of Britt Lafield/BKL Productions, Soho Playhouse, Inc., Aaron Glick and The PigPen Company. The animated short features music from PigPen's first album, also called Bremen, the same music prominently featured in The Old Man and the Old Moon, which will play The Gym at Judson(243 Thompson Street at Washington Square South) beginning September 26th, with an official opening on October 7th. John Arthur Pinckard, the Tony Award-Winning Producer of Clybourne Park,has joined with The New Colony, 2011 Broadway In Chicago Emerging Theater Award-recipient, to announce the acceptance of last summer's critically-acclaimed 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche, written by Andrew Hobgood and Evan Linder and directed by Sarah Gitenstein, into The New York International Fringe Festival. Chicago audiences will be able to see the re-staging of last summer's hit production at Center on Halsted opening on Monday, July 30th with a limited run from August 2nd - August 5th before it heads to FringeNYC.

Critically acclaimed theater troupe PigPen Theatre Co. celebrates its move to New York City with the October 4 opening of its brand new production, The Old Man and The Old Moon, co-produced by Britt Lafield/BKL Productions and SoHo Playhouse, Inc. at The Gym at Judson (located in the iconic Judson Memorial Church). The only company to win top honors at the New York International Fringe Festival two years in a row (in 2010 for The Nightmare Story and in 2011 for The Mountain Song), PigPen's seven members met as students at Carnegie Mellon University and officially formed the company in 2008. FringeNYC Encore Series Announces 2009 Performance Schedule

The 2009 FringeNYC Encores Series has announced its lineup. The series will feature the hit shows from the 2009 FringeNYC Festival. The productions willl run in repertory from September 10 through 26 at the SoHo Playhouse and the Actors' Playhouse.
