The 2009 FringeNYC Encores Series has announced its lineup. The series will feature the hit shows from the 2009 FringeNYC Festival. The productions willl run in repertory from September 10 through 26 at the SoHo Playhouse and the Actors' Playhouse.

Now in its Fourth year, the FringeNYC Encore Series gives theatre lovers a third chance at seeing some of the Festival's favorite shows. Beginning Sept 10, the 4th annual FringeNYC Encore Series will present nineteen works in rotating repertory at two downtown venues: Soho Playhouse (15 Vandam Street between 6th Ave & Varick, off the #1 to Houston Street or C, E to Spring) and The Actors' Playhouse (100 Seventh Avenue South).

In 16 days even the most intrepid theatergoer can only sample a small fraction of the over 200 offerings at the New York International Fringe Festival. The Fringenyc Encores Series is a showcase some of the best and most crowd-pleasing shows from the New York International Fringe Festival, most of them right from their sold out runs. Check the lineup at the right to get more info about the shows and about purchasing tickets. Seats are onsale to the public now!

Tickets are on sale now for the FringeNYC Encore Series! Come be a part today of what everyone will be talking about tomorrow...

Lots of people think the Encore Series is the Fringe Festival's latest offering. That's actually not the case. Both the Present Company and the New York International Fringe Festival are completely separate from the FringeNYC Encores Series. While the Fringe Festival, celebrating its twelveth anniversary, is a production of the Present Company, headed by Producing Artistic Director Elena K. Holy, the FringeNYC Encore Series, is the brain child of longtime Fringe Festival producers John Pinckard and Britt Lafield.

In 16 days even the most intrepid theatergoer can only sample a small fraction of the 200 plus offerings at the annual Fringe Festival. After years of not being able to get to all the shows they wanted to see, Pinckard and Lafield teamed up to offer theatre lovers a second chance at seeing some of the Festival's hottest tickets.

Beginnng right before Labor Day, this annual series will present a selection of audience favorites and critical successes in Fringe-style repertory at two venues.

"One of the great things about FringeNYC is that it creates this unique atmosphere in which really exciting work can get a level of attention that would otherwise be impossible. The unavoidable downside is that just as your word-of-mouth has caught fire, your run is over," says producer Pinckard. "We wanted to give a handful of worthy shows a chance to be seen by more people. These actors, directors, writers and designers have all worked so hard and deserve an encore."

The FringeNYC Encore Series is not a production of The Present Company or The New York International Fringe Festival.
