Dates and Venues Announced for FringeNYC Encores

Schedule and venue information has been announced for "FringeNYC Encores," in which theatregoers will be given the chance to catch shows from the 10th Annual New York International Fringe Festival that they might have missed the first time around.

From September 5th through September 23rd, "FringeNYC Encores" will place ten popular shows in rotating repertory at two to-be-announced downtown venues.  The shows selected will have been "either been audience favorites, lauded by critics, or both."  The shows are: Billy the Mime, The Blue Martini, Danny Boy, Diving Normal, I Was Tom Cruise, In Transit, Mike's Incredible Indian Adventure, Never Swim Alone, Open House, The Penguin Tango, Perfect Harmony, Rainy Days & Mondays, and Walmartopia.

Billy the Mime will play the Lion Theatre on Sept. 22 at 4 and 7 PM; Sept. 23 at 2 and 7 PM; and Sept. 24 at 2 PM.

The Blue Martini will play the Lion on Sept. 19 at 3:30; Sept. 20 at 4 PM and 9:30 PM; Sept. 21 at 4 PM; and Sept. 23 at 9 PM.

Broken Hands will play the Lion on Sept. 11 at 9:30 PM; Sept. 18 at 4:30 PM; Sept. 19 at 6:30 PM; and Sept. 21 at 9:30 PM.

Danny Boy will play the 14th Streeet Y on Sept. 15 at 9:30 PM; Sept. 17 at 2 PM; Sept. 18 at 9:30 PM; Sept. 19 at 9:15 PM; and Sept. 21 at 6:30 PM.

The Deepest Play Ever: The Catharsis of Pathos will play the 14th Street Y on Sept. 9 at 4 PM and 9:30 PM; Sept. 11 at 8:30 PM; and Sept. 17 at 9:30 PM.

Diving Normal will play the 14th Street Y on Sept. 5 at 9 PM; Sept. 6 at 7 PM; Sept. 7 at 9:30 PM; Sept. 8 at 9:15 PM; Sept. 9 at 7 PM; Sept. 10 at 4:30 PM; Sept. 12 at 7 PM; Sept. 21 at 4 PM; and Sept. 24 at 4 PM.

Hermanas will play the Lion on  Sept. 6 at 9 PM; Sept. 7 at 5 PM; Sept. 8 at 7 PM; Sept. 9 at 4:30 PM; Sept. 11 at 7 PM; Sept. 12 at 4:30 PM.

The Infliction of Cruelty will play the 14th Street Y on Sept. 6 at 9:30 PM; Sept. 8 at 7 PM; Sept. 10 at 10:30 PM; and Sept. 12 at 4:30 and 9:30 PM.

I Was Tom Cruise will play the 14th Street Y on Sept. 5 at 7 PM; Sept. 7 at 7 PM; Sept. 8 at 4:30 PM; Sept. 10 at 8 PM; Sept. 11 at 6:30 PM; Sept. 15 at 7 PM; Sept. 18 at 7 PM; and Sept. 22 at 9:15 PM.

Mike's Incredible Indian Adventure will play the Lion on Sept. 13 at 4:30 & 7 PM; Sept. 14 at 4:30 PM; Sept. 15 at 4:30 PM; and Sept. 17 at 2 PM.

Never Swim Alone will play the Lion on 10 PM; Sept. 10 at 5 PM; Sept. 12 at 9:30 PM; Sept. 15 at 7 PM; Sept. 16 at 4:30 PM; Sept 17. at 5 PM; and Sept 18. at 9:30 PM.

Open House will play the Lion on Sept. 12 at 7 PM; Sept. 14 at 6:45 PM; Sept. 16 at 2 PM; Sept. 17 at 6:45 PM; and Sept. 18 at 7 PM.

The Penguin Tango will play the Lion on Sept. 5 at 9 PM; Sept. 6 at 4:30 PM; Sept. 7 at 9:15 PM; Sept. 8 at 5 PM; Sept. 9 at 7 PM; Sept. 10 at 7 PM; Sept. 14 at 9:15 PM; Sept. 15 at 9 PM; and Sept. 16 at 6:30 PM.

Perfect Harmony will play the 14th Street Y on Sept. 21 at 9:30 PM; Sept. 23 at 7:45 & 11 PM; Sept. 24 at 6:30 and 9:30 PM.

Rainy Days and Mondays will play the Lion on Sept. 13 at 9:15; Sept. 16 at 9 PM; Sept. 17 at 9:15 PM; Sept. 19 at 9 PM; Sept. 20 at 6:30 PM; Sept. 21 at 7 PM; Sept. 22 at 9 PM; Sept. 23 at 4 PM; and Sept. 24 at 5 PM.

Walmartopia will play the 14th Street Y on Sept. 15 at 4 PM; Sept. 17 at 5 and 8:30 PM; Sept. 18 at 4 PM; Sept. 19 at 6:30 PM; Sept. 22 at 4 PM; and Sept. 23 at 2 and 5 PM.

"One of the great thing about FringeNYC is that it creates this unique atmosphere in which really exciting work can get a level of attention that would otherwise be impossible.  The unavoidable downside is that just as your word-of-mouth has caught fire, your run is over. We wanted to give a handful of worthy shows a chance to be seen by more people. These actors, directors, writers and designers have all worked so hard and deserve an encore," said producer John Pinckard in a statment (Pinckard will produce the series with Britt Lafield).  More than 200 shows are playing or have played FringeNYC, which lasts through August 27th.
