Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater, in residence at Northeastern Illinois University, brings their popular “Flamenco Passion” performances to the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie, 9501 Skokie Blvd., 7:30 p.m., Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18, and 3 p.m. Sunday, June 19. Ophelia's Jump Productions will present Espiritu Flamenco, an evening of exquisite Spanish food and virtuosic Flamenco performance on Friday, October 15, 2021 and Saturday, October 16, under the stars at a private residence in Claremont.

Starring a most accomplished set of Flamenco dancers, singers and musicians. Each has their own style, rhythms, history and persona. I did not find out until later that these particular performers had never worked as a group together; they all came together for this one special evening to perform Forever Flamenco, May 26, 2019, at The Fountain Theatre. These are some of the most world-renown Flamenco artists performing today. We are talking authentic carriers of the Art of Flamenco, dedicated and absorbed by their culture and this Art. All stem from an early background of exposure to Flamenco in many forms. They are fascinating, exciting, exact, mesmerizing, intense, passionate, convicted and ignited during the performance. It was a visual treat to be sitting “ringside” and witnessing the thrill of being immersed in the performance.

Three extraordinary dancers - Reyes Barrios, Arleen Hurtado and Briseyda Zarate  - guarantee a dynamic and varied evening of flamenco stylings, accompanied by flamenco guitar masters Antonio Triana and Ben Woods and world renowned singer Juan de Dios. 

Forever Flamenco by Lakshmi Basile - International flamenco sensation Lakshmi "La Chimi" Basile directs the March installment of "Forever Flamenco" at the Fountain, with a stellar company that includes dancer Briseyda Zarate; singers Antonio De Jerez and Bruno Serrano; guitarist Jose Tanaka; and, on the standup bass, special guest artist Jeff Basile. The Los Angeles Times hails the Fountain Theatre's monthly Forever Flamenco series as "the earth and fire of first-class flamenco," and LA Splash says, "Being the sensual, intimate art form that it is... the way you feel when you walk out of a Forever Flamenco performance is pretty darn fabulous."

Vida Flamenca Productions will present Flamenco Dancer Domingo Ortega, direct from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, in a rare Santa Barbara performance.

Forever Flamenco! - The acclaimed series, back home at the intimate Fountain Theatre, goes 'back to basics,' presenting a Cuadro of flamenco artists: two dancers (the deep and soulful Briseyda Zarate and the brave, exciting Mizuho Sato), a singer (passionate Jesus Montoya), and a guitarist (master Flamenco artist Jose Tanaka), artists who have worked together for years and can feel each other's every move and note. With only 78 seats in four rows, the Fountain is the perfect place to view flamenco.

Forever Flamenco! - The Fountain Theatre's acclaimed series returns to the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre on November 20. Each show in the series features a roster of world-class Flamenco dancers, singers and musicians drawn from the rich pool of Flamenco artists in Southern California, with additional guest artists brought from San Francisco, Albuquerque and Spain.

Forever Flamenco! - The Fountain Theatre's acclaimed series returns to the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre on November 20. Each show in the series features a roster of world-class Flamenco dancers, singers and musicians drawn from the rich pool of Flamenco artists in Southern California, with additional guest artists brought from San Francisco, Albuquerque and Spain.

With the success of four previous Festivals (1999, 2002, 2005, 2008), the 2011 World Festival of Sacred Music (WFSM) has established itself as one of the premiere arts festivals of Los Angeles. For 16 days and nights from today through 16, 2011, WFSM fills L.A.'s historic theaters, churches, temples and public spaces with 32 performances featuring local and international artists with disciplines ranging from sacred traditional music to contemporary dance.
