TodayTix, the global ticketing platform connecting audiences to live performances around the world, has launched in Australia, giving access to the year's biggest production Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in Melbourne.
From this Friday 11 January the Australian premiere production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will begin releasing 40 tickets for every performance of the play for $40 per part. These tickets are known as the "Friday Forty" and are for some of the best seats in the theatre. They will be released each Friday for the following week's performances. Entries for the first Friday Forty are now open and close at 1:00PM AEDT on Friday 11 January.

There's a new CEO at TodayTix, though he's definitely not new to the company Chairman Brian Fenty is becoming chief executive, while his co-founder (and the previous CEO) Merritt Baer is becoming the Head of Europe. TodayTix sells theater tickets in cities across the United States (including New York, Chicago and San Francisco), but its European presence is currently limited to London. Fenty said there's a huge opportunity to go to some of the arts capitals of Europe Paris, Hamburg, Vienna.
