Dance Now's Fall 2016 DANCE-MOPOLITAN Series Presents Chelsea & Magda, Bryan Strimpel and Shaina Branfman

Commissioned and produced by DANCE NOW, National Intimacy Month is a collaboration between performance duo Chelsea and Magda, choreographer/dancers Bryan Strimpel and Shaina Branfman of B.S. Movement, and choreographer Raja Feather Kelly and his troupe, the feath3r theory. Combining choreography, improvisation, text, live podcasting, and sketch comedy, the work explores the role of intimacy in the creative process and in performance. The cute and the aggressive, the familiar and unknown, the popular and the underrated-all come into play in dynamic, surprising, and humorous ways, complete with commercial breaks and apple pie.

The Joyce Theater Announces 2017 Spring & Summer Season

Linda Shelton, Executive Director of The Joyce Theater, announced today the organization's programming for its 2017 spring/summer season, kicking off with the sensational ballet star Wendy Whelan and in-demand contemporary dance choreographer Brian Brooks' second collaboration, Some of a Thousand Words, set to live music performed by the extraordinary string quartet, Brooklyn Rider.

Hubbard Street to Present Two World Premieres This November

 Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, under the artistic direction of Glenn Edgerton, announces today, full programming for Season 39 Fall Series November 17- 20, 2016 at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance. Highlighting the engagement, Hubbard Street Resident Choreographer Alejandro Cerrudo's 15th original work for the company, a world premiere piece by 2013 Guggenheim Fellow and inaugural Harris Theater Choreographer in Residence Brian Brooks as well as the revival of two ensemble works by Ji?i Kylian.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announces the lineup for the fifth edition of free talk series NYFF Live during the 54th New York Film Festival (September 30 – October 16). Hubbard Street Dance Chicago Returns to the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago

 Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Artistic Director Glenn Edgerton are excited to announce the main company's return to the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago for danc(e)volve: New Works Festival, May 10–14, 2017 in the Edlis Neeson Theater, located at 220 East Chicago Avenue in Chicago. This marks the company's fourth appearance since 2012 on the MCA Stage; both previous danc(e)volve engagements as well as Princess Grace Awards: New Works have been dedicated to world premieres of contemporary dance, developed in collaboration with Hubbard Street's acclaimed ensemble, led by established and ascending choreographers. 

Chicago Dancing Festival Launches 10th Anniversary, Today

The Chicago Dancing Festival, the nation's largest dance festival, proudly announces repertoire for its 10th annual series with George Balanchine's Concerto Barocco (performed byPennsylvania Ballet in its Chicago Dancing Festival debut), Alexander Ekman's Episode 31 (The Joffrey Ballet, originally commissioned in 2013), Christopher Wheeldon's After the Rain (The Joffrey Ballet) and a new work by world-renowned choreographer Randy Duncan set to an original score by five-time Emmy Award-winning, Chicago-based composer Andy Mitranas as part of Chicago Dancing Festival's first-time collaboration with Chicago Dancers United, among program highlights. This year's event will present five unique programs in five days across Chicago's top downtown venues - the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Jay Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park, the highly anticipated return to the Auditorium Theatre, and for the first time at Navy Pier in celebration of the Festival's 10th anniversary - August 23-27, 2016.

ODC Theatre Adds Sunday Show for RAWdance; World Premiere of DOUBLE EXPOSURE

ODC Theater is proud to present RAWdance in the world premiere of Double Exposure, a series of 12 duets each choreographed by a different West Coast choreographer or choreographic team. Artistic Directors Ryan T. Smith andWendy Rein are the evening's sole performers in an event they're calling 'the ultimate duet.' Double Exposure runs July 28 - 31, Thursday to Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 6 p.m. Tickets are $30 - $45, and may be purchased online at odcdance.org/tickets or by phone at 415.863.9834.
