Past And Present Collide When Funsch Dance Experience Marks 15th Anniversary

Choreographer Christy Funsch celebrates the women of two distinct eras of San Francisco dance history with Mother, Sister, Daughter, Marvel at ODC Theater this spring. The full-length work marks 15 years of the Christy Funsch Dance Experience making dance and performance in the city by the bay.

Kennedy Center Announces DEMO: NOW

Damian Woetzel continues his innovative interdisciplinary series uniting artists from across fields in a special one-night only performance, March 7 in the Terrace Theater. Part of the inaugural DIRECT CURRENT, the Kennedy Center's two-week celebration of contemporary culture, this installment of the multi-genre series will present recently commissioned works, including a world premiere, and Washington, D.C. premieres by some of today's most creative and groundbreaking voices in dance and music.

The Joyce Theater Foundation presents Brian Brooks Dance

The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc. (Linda Shelton, Executive Director) is thrilled to present Brian Brooks Dance, under the direction of award-winning choreographer Brian Brooks, from March 14-18. The program for this engagement will feature two works by Brooks including the New York premiere of Prelude. 'Pay What You Decide' Program Announced At The Joyce

The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc. (Linda Shelton, Executive Director) is pleased to announce two new initiatives during its Spring/Summer 2018 Season: Pay What You Decide, offering patrons the ability to pay what they deem appropriate after seeing a specific performance of three of The Joyce's presentations; and JoycePass, providing eligible dance professionals with prime seat locations in The Joyce's Chelsea home for $10.

Miami City Ballet Presents Program Three: A World Premiere of Brian Brooks' One Line Drawn, Jerome Robbins' The Concert (Or, The Perils Of Everybody) and More

Miami City Ballet's Program Three features the highly anticipated world premiere of One Line Drawn commissioned exclusively for the company by the Harris Theater of Music and Dance in Chicago with choreography by Brian Brooks. In addition to Brook's premiere, the Program also juxtaposes the old and the new, featuring George Balanchine's classic masterpiece Theme and Variations, with soaring music by Tchaikovsky, as well as Jerome Robbins' lighthearted The Concert (or, the Perils of Everybody), universally acclaimed as the funniest of all comic ballets.

Miami City Ballet to Perform in World-Class Cultural Festivals in the U.S. and France

Miami City Ballet, one of the country's premier ballet companies, is proudly looking ahead to upcoming performances with two world-class cultural festivals. In May, the company will open Charleston's 42nd Spoleto Festival USA before traveling to Paris for performances with the prestigious Les Etes de la Danse Festival.

Stephen Petronio Company Announces Nora Chipaumire, Will Rawls, and Kathy Westwater as Inaugural Artists of the Petronio Residency Center

In December 2016, Stephen Petronio Company purchased Crow's Nest, a 175-acre property in the Catskill Mountains. This bold act not only secures the Company's legacy but also aims to provide a creative home for dance via the Petronio Residency Center, whose first round of residencies the Company is proud to announce today. The inaugural recipients are Nora Chipaumire, Will Rawls, and Kathy Westwater, whose residencies will take place between July-October, 2018. Each artist has been awarded a one-week residency that includes exclusive use of the 9,000 sq. ft. facilities for up to 9 individuals, a $5,000 stipend, and up to $1,500 for travel assistance. This rare and fully-funded opportunity includes room, board, and meals prepared on-site by a chef from locally-sourced ingredients.

ODC Presents Cori Olinghouse in West Coast Premiere of GRANDMA

ODC Theater is proud to present Cori Olinghouse in the West Coast premiere of GRANDMA, February 15 - 17. Best known for her practice of 'Clown Therapy,' which she defines as 'shape-shifting and a queering of the clown form,' Olinghouse in Grandma excavates the effects of television, the media and her own family lineage as portals to parody American consumerism. Sharing the bill with Grandma is Olinghouse's short film Ghost line. The School at Jacob's Pillow Announces New Choreography Program

Northrop presents NEW YORK CITY BALLET MOVES

New York City Ballet MOVES makes its grand return to Northrop's stage after five years on Sat, Oct. 28 at 7:30 pm as part of the 2017//18 Northrop Dance Season . This select group of NYCB principal dancers, soloists, corps members and musicians offer a stunning repertory program of five different ballets four with live music. Works include pieces by NYCB's co-founding choreographers, George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins, as well as exciting contemporary artists Justin Peck, Christopher Wheeldon and Angelin Preljocaj.

RAWdance Performs DOUBLE EXPOSURE at ODC, 10/26-28

After their sold-out world premiere at ODC Theater last summer, RAWdance returns next month in an encore presentation of DOUBLE EXPOSURE, the company's critically acclaimed program of duets representing more than a dozen West Coast choreographers. Miami City Ballet Opens FALL FOR DANCE Festival at NY City Center, 10/2 & 3

Miami City Ballet will present a world premiere ballet choreographed by Troy Schumacher as part of the opening program of New York City Center's 2017 Fall for Dance Festival on October 2 and 3 at New York City Center (55th Street between 6th & 7th Avenues). The new work has been commissioned by City Center and is a meditation on childhood, set to Francis Poulenc's Concerto for Two Pianos in D Minor and featuring a cast of 14 Miami City Ballet dancers.

BAM and LUMBERYARD Team for Next Wave Residencies

BAM and LUMBERYARD Contemporary Performing Arts have announced a new collaboration through which LUMBERYARD will provide production residencies to artists readying new works for premiere in the BAM Next Wave Festival.
