The Atlanta Opera closes its 2011-2012 season with Mozart's Don Giovanni tonight, April 28, May 1, 4 and 6, 2012 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. Widely regarded as the greatest opera ever composed, Don Giovanni is described as 'a brilliant combination of comedy and tragedy, telling of the devious schemes and hijinks of history's most beguiling scoundrel, Don Juan.'

Theatre Memphis' Lohrey Stage will soon be home to the story of Conrad Birdie, a famous rock-n-roll star, in the production of the lively family musical classic Bye Bye Birdie. Playing August 19 - September 11, 2011, the plot surrounds Birdie being drafted into the army and Albert Peterson, his agent, and Albert's secretary, Rosie, concocting one final national publicity plan before Conrad's induction.

For awhile now, we have been receiving press materials and hearing about The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF), but never witnessed the group first-hand.
Well, that all changed this past Saturday night, in Philadelphia, when we decided to go to the Kimmel Center and see the 2011 Summer-Intensive weekend showcase, this year titled TRUE COLORS.
I can honestly say that our jaws dropped. Directed and hosted by the newest addition to their impressive faculty line-up, Richard Jay-Alexander, the evening was like watching a skillfull PLAYLIST of Broadway 'gold' and 'showstoppers.' Two ACTS worth!
