On Tuesday, September 22, 2009, The Broadway League and the Coalition of Broadway Unions and Guilds (COBUG) will present ?Broadway Salutes,? a unique public celebration honoring the myriad of artists who have made Broadway great for decades ? with special recognition for those individuals who have worked 25, 35 and 50 years in their respective theatrical craft.

Then it became a New York Times bestseller and played to sold-out crowds on a six-city national tour. Now Fisher returns to Berkeley Rep's Roda Theatre, her last stop before the show bursts onto Broadway! This limited run - 15 performances only - begins July 9 and ends July 23.

This UK based play more than any other resonates with modern US politics with its themes of greed, party funding, the media etc. It exposes the way in these cruel and lean times business, media and politics are now too intertwined to nobody's real advantage!

The Irish Repertory Theatre will open its 2008-2009 season with the world premiere of Tony Award winning playwright Frank McGuinness's adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's THE MASTER BUILDER. McGuinness' adaptation was commissioned by the Irish Rep and will be directed by Ciaran O'Reilly.

Arena Stage welcomes Josh Kornbluth, writer/performer of Red Diaper Baby and Love & Taxes, in his hilarious and provocative one-man show Citizen Josh. A Jonathan Reinis Production, Citizen Josh is written and performed by Kornbluth in collaboration with Arena's Associate Artistic Director David Dower.

Today Tony Taccone, artistic director of Berkeley Repertory Theatre, announced additional dates for two solo shows that he staged in Berkeley before launching them on tours across the continent. Danny Hoch's Taking Over had its world premiere at Berkeley Rep in January and hit it big in Montreal this July; next week it starts an All City Tour featuring free performances in Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx in addition to previously announced dates in Manhattan and Los Angeles. Moreover, after a record-breaking run in Berkeley last winter, Carrie Fisher's Wishful Drinking careened through Hartford, San Jose, Santa Fe, and Washington, DC this summer; now it adds Seattle to a list of upcoming destinations that also includes Boston.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre announces a five city tour of Carrie Fisher's 'Wishful Drinking' starting June 18th in Santa Fe.

The full cast and creative team is anounced for the Keegan Theatre's production of The Hostage, by Brendan Behan. Directed by Mark A. Rhea, the production will play the Church Street Theater, February 21-March 9.
