Production has begun in South Africa and North Carolina on the HBO Films presentation MARY AND MARTHA, starring Hilary Swank (Oscar(R) winner for 'Boys Don't Cry' and 'Million Dollar Baby') and Brenda Blethyn (Oscar(R) nominee for 'Secrets & Lies' and 'Little Voice'), it was announced today by Len Amato, president, HBO Films.

Manhattan Theatre Club celebrated Artistic Director Lynne Meadow's 40th anniversary as the visionary and artistic leader of the organization with a special tribute last night, June 18. The event will began at 6:30 PM with a VIP cocktail reception, followed by a 7:30 tribute event at the Samuel J. Friedman and a party at Copacabana. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that DreamWorks Studios has acquired film rights to Michael Morpurgo's 1982 novel War Horse, which they will present on the big screen. Billy Elliot scribe Lee Hall will create the screenplay adaptation.
