BIG APPLE CIRCUS is thrilled to announce that real-life wonder women will join the 41st season, led by new ringmaster Stephanie Monseu. The season will play an extended run from October 20, 2018 through January 27, 2019 at Lincoln Center's Damrosch Park and will feature a brand-new Hall of Wonder leading into the Big Top tent, with organic, craft circus treats and entertainment for all ages. Custom car builder Aaron Kaufman is back in the driver's seat and ready to rev up more engines. The Fast N' Loud star embarked on a new adventure last year, opening Arclight Fabrication in Dallas, TX and designing aftermarket parts for the F100 market. Focused on unique builds and determined to broaden his robust car knowledge, Kaufman takes on new challenges and immerses himself in different areas of the automotive industry, including rally racing. On September 21, The Sherman Playhouse will open their Fall season with the hilarious Steve Martin's The Underpants The production is directed by Dan Friedman of Bedford, NY and produced by Steve Stott of Brookfield. It features Brianna Bowman of Bethel, Timothy Huber of Danbury, Michael Schaner of Sherman, Michele Leigh of Brookfield, Jeff Rossman New Fairfield, Joe Manuele of Carmel, NY and Chris Marker of Sherman.

Whenever DeLayne Bluth Dayton directs a show she especially likes, she finds a way to appear on stage, often popping up in a place that even surprises her actors. "I'm kind of like Alfred Hitchcock who did that in his films," she laughs.

As Lyle Lovett takes the stage for his 21st show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the venue has announced Lovett's induction into the Red Rocks Hall of Fame. The venue occasionally inducts performers who have particular longevity or importance in the venue's history and Lovett is the sole honoree this year.

Wizarding World fans at King's Cross railway station for “Back to Hogwarts” Day got the surprise of their lives when Eddie Redmayne and Jude Law, stars of the highly anticipated new big-screen adventure Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, apparated on Platform 9 ¾ to join the festivities and lead the countdown to the 11:00 AM departure of the Hogwarts Express.

Let's return to the farmlands of Minnesota and visit some of the funniest Lutheran ladies that have ever graced a stage: the Church Basement Ladies. 'Rise Up, O Men' is the fifth musical addition to the continuing stories inspired from a book by Janet Letnes Martin and Suzann Nelson, entitled Growing Up Lutheran. Written by Greta Grosch, who was the original Mavis when CBL first appeared in 2005, this iteration allows a few of the men in the lives of the church to have a bit of the spotlight.

The Suzi Bass Awards revealed nominations for the 2017-2018 Atlanta professional theatre season on Monday evening, August 27, to patrons and industry artists. Theatre Odyssey is pleased to announce the semi-finalist winners in its inaugural One-Act Play Festival. The selected semi-finalist one-acts were chosen from 100 plays submitted from over eighty playwrights in twenty-six states and the District of Columbia. The semi-finalists will be presented to the public in a series of readings held September 10-13, 2018 in Sarasota and Bradenton, where they will be adjudicated by a distinguished panel of judges, followed by a full production of each of the finalists to take place in Sarasota November 1-4, 2018.

A CHORUS LINE, the hit musical about dancers auditioning for a Broadway show played for 6,137 performances in its original run and, depending on who you ask, there are numerous reasons for that. First, and foremost, audiences connected with the people on stage and their experiences. They saw their own wishes and dreams played out through the diverse and talented group of people assembled. The second reason is because it offers a unique variety of energetic musical numbers (with some amazing dancing, naturally) interspersed with dramatic monologues that get at the heart of the human condition. And third, and probably most importantly - it is simply a wildly entertaining musical. I am pleased to say that all of these elements (and more!) are present in the current production of A CHORUS LINE at the Ivoryton Playhouse in Ivoryton, CT.
