Two years ago, The New Ohio Theatre and IRT Theater (new neighbors in the historic Archive Building on Christopher Street) kicked-off their exciting new developing and presenting initiative: the Archive Residency. The Archive Residency offers select independent theatre companies a two-year commitment of space, artistic support, and institutional continuity for the development and presentation of a new work. terraNOVA Collective has announced the 2014 Groundworks New Play Series at Cherry Lane Studio this June. The 2014 Groundworks New Play Series features the 6 new plays developed through the 2014 Groundbreakers Playwrights Group, and 2 new soloNOVA ARTS Workshops. This year's playwrights work has been produced or developed with numerous prestigious theatres including The Public, Joe's Pub, New York Theatre Workshop, The Old Vic, Roundabout Theatre Company, Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre, Edward F. Albee Foundation, Sundance Theatre Lab and Lincoln Center.

Greene, Kirsten Greenidge, Lillian Groag, Jordan Harrison, Lucas Hnath, Ann Marie Healy, Meghan Kennedy, Kimber Lee, Kenneth Lin, Laura Marks, Ellen McLaughlin, Michael Mitnick, Don Nguyen, Dael Orlandersmith, A. TAKE ME BACK begins performances on Friday, February 28 for a limited engagement through Saturday, March 22. Opening Night is Wednesday, March 5 at 8 PM. The performance schedule is Wednesday - Saturday at 8 PM, with added performances on Monday, March 3 and Tuesday, March 4 at 8 PM. terraNOVA Collective has announced the six talented playwrights selected, from a record-breaking number of submissions, for the 2014 Groundbreakers Playwrights Group, a unique playwriting intensive for these individuals to collaborate and cultivate work, meeting once a week for 18 weeks. The artists are ALEXANDRA COLLIER (We Play for the Gods), STEVE DiUBALDO (Coyote and the Origin of Death), SUKARI JONES (The River Is Me), BOO KILLEBREW (co-founder of CollaborationTown), JORDAN SEAVEY (co-Artistic Director CollaborationTown), and MFONISO UDOFIA (2013 Sundance Theatre Lab Resident Playwright and a 2013 Summer Yale Resident).

TUMACHO, an intimate one-night performance with songs to benefit five-time Obie-winning theatre company Clubbed Thumb, was held earlier this week on December 16 (7:30pm) at 13th Street Theater. 2013 Tony Award winner Pam MacKinnon directed, written by Obie winner Ethan Lipton. The event featured Patrick Wilson, America Ferrera, Christian Borle, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Kristine Nielsen, Richard Kind, and John Ellison Conlee. Check out a look back below!

On Sunday, September 22 New Georges held their BIG Benefit at Seamen's House, a private townhouse in Chelsea. The fundraiser featured a special performance by Eisa Davis and short plays and songs written specifically for the event by Laura Eason, Boo Killebrew, Julie Kramer, Rachel Peters and Charise Castro Smith, featuring Heidi Schreck, Maria-Christina Oliveras, Amy Wilson, Stephanie Wright Thompson, Eric Clem and others. At a benefit event held for New Georges on Sunday, September 22, Producing Artistic Director Susan Bernfield and board member Michael Osso announced a new program at New Georges, The Audrey Residencies, and the artists and projects chosen for 2013-14, the program's inaugural year. Sunday's event also featured the premiere showing of a video about New Georges produced by tdf for tdfSTAGES' Meet the Theatre series and directed by Mark Blankenship, tdf's online content editor, to be released in early November.

Wasps will run from July 24th through July 28th at the Connelly Theater. July 24th- 26th performances are at 8pm, July 27th at 5pm and 9pm, and July 28th at 2pm. The Connelly Theater is located at 220 East 4th Street in Manhattan (between Avenues A and B). All tickets are $18 and can be purchased at www.stu42.com.
