Frances Berwick Named President of NBCU's Lifestyle Networks

Frances Berwick has been named President, Lifestyle Networks, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, it was announced today by Bonnie Hammer, Chairman, NBCU Cable Entertainment. In her expanded role, Berwick will add strategic oversight of E! Entertainment and Esquire Network to her current duties at Bravo and Oxygen Media, continuing to report to Hammer. Also, Adam Stotsky has been appointed General Manager of E! Entertainment, responsible for day-to-day operations of the network, in addition to his current role as President, Esquire Network. Stotsky will now report to Berwick. With this re-organization in Cable Entertainment, Hammer has more closely aligned these lifestyle networks with the way they are offered to the marketplace.
NBCUniversal Reaches Multi-Year Deal with WWE

NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment and WWE (NYSE:WWE) today announced a multi-year strategic partnership for WWE's flagship programming and ratings juggernauts MONDAY NIGHT RAW for a three-hour block on USA Network and the top-rated FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN on Syfy. The two programs are the longest-running weekly episodic entertainment programs on cable TV with a combined reach of 10.8M viewers each week. The announcement was made today by Paul 'Triple H' Levesque, WWE Executive Vice President Talent, Live Events & Creative, from the stage at the NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment upfront presentation at the Javitz Center in New York.

NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment Chairman Bonnie Hammer today announced the newest classic in the ongoing Characters Unite Film Series to use the power of storytelling to increase awareness of social injustices, stimulate productive dialogue and encourage further progress. USA Network will commemorate Characters Unite Month and Black History Month by presenting 'In the Heat of the Night' with limited commercials on Saturday, February 15 at 9/8c. The film, which was groundbreaking in its powerful portrayal of racism in America and played a role in advancing the civil rights movement, won five Oscars including Best Picture. Film, television and music icon Quincy Jones, who composed the music for the film, will give a special introduction.
NBCUniversal Acquires Full Ownership of Kids Cable Network Sprout

The NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment Group today announced that it has increased its stake to full ownership of Sprout, the first 24-hour preschool network, following a buyout of its remaining partners at PBS and HIT Television Ventures, a company controlled by Apax Funds. Launched in 2005 as a joint venture among Comcast, PBS, Sesame Workshop and HIT Entertainment, Sprout will now be 100 percent owned and integrated within the Cable Entertainment Group as it deepens its commitment to building an overall kids and family entertainment strategy.
