Turner's truTV continues to bolster its growing roster of wholly-owned, original comedies as the network today unveiled its 2018-19 programming slate ahead of next week's 2018 Turner Upfront event at Madison Square Garden. The cable network, which since 2014 has transformed into a premium destination for a wide range of distinct, creator-driven scripted, unscripted and hybrid series, announced the greenlight of Tacoma FD (working title), a new scripted series from Super Troopers' Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme about a fire department in the wettest city in America. Also joining the slate are two new pilots - a comedic medical advice show created by Ken Jeong and an animated project from Jo Koy, which are currently in development. The network has also expanded its portfolio of existing original series, with new seasons of ADAM RUINS EVERYTHING and Hack My Life, along with an additional episode order for freshman series Laff Mobb's Laff Tracks.

The 11th Annual Las Vegas Film Festival, partnered with CineVegas,announced this morning the initial programming lineup for the 2018 Festival, to be held at Brenden Theatres and Palms Casino Resort June 6 – 10. The lineup includes a mix of feature films and documentaries that have been favorites on the international festival circuit, as well as new additions to this year's Festival - live discussions and live comedy. 2018 also marks the first year with seasoned film festival programming veteran Mike Plante serving as the Festival's Captain of Strategy.

truTV today announced a 10-episode season two greenlight of its critically-acclaimed, half-hour variety sketch series, At Home with Amy Sedaris, co-created by Amy Sedaris and Paul Dinello (Strangers with Candy). Academy Award(R)-winning production company A24 (Lady Bird, 2 Dope Queens) is on board to produce the sophomore season of the scripted series, which will go into production later this year. Bron Animation has signed Ricky Gervais (Special Correspondents, “The Office,” “Derek”) to narrate its production of THE WILLOUGHBYS, based on the popular children's book of the same name by Newbery® Award winning author Lois Lowry

Singer/songwriter Wesley Stace, who will release Wesley Stace's John Wesley Harding on February 24, will embark on a nine-city tour opening for The Jayhawks.
