Broadway Unlocked founder Jessica Ryan announced today the talent lineup for the seventh annual #giveback concert slated for Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 7.30pm at The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space (44 Charlton Street). A VIP Reception begins at 6pm, doors open at 6.45pm. The evening will feature new and original work, including a host of debut songs inspired by the writings of survivors who have found help at CVTC.
The San Diego State University MFA Musical Theatre Program has launched an innovative two-year development program dedicated to fostering the creation of new musicals. The SDSU MFA New Musical Initiative was conceived with the idea of helping musical theatre writers develop a new work through a two-year process including a reading (fall 2018), a workshop (spring 2019) and a full production (spring 2020). After a competitive submission process, which saw over 120 new scripts and scores, the selection committee chose 'Til Death Do Us Part by Bobby Cronin and Caroline Prugh.

In New York, Broadway, TV, Film and YouTube stars come together to empower survivors of violence and fund the groundbreaking work of Crime Victims Treatment Center (CVTC), where anyone can receive life-saving treatment - completely free of charge.
The Early Night Show With Joshua Turchin released the live performance of 'I Won't Grow Up, Or Will I?... a Peter Pan-Inspired Medley', a parody medley arranged, co-written, and performed by Joshua Turchin (A Christmas Story, The Pill, TrevorLive LA) and Ellis Gage (James & the Giant Peach World Premiere). Joshua Turchin also served as the music director and accompanist. The parody is a humorous and touching dialogue delving into the mind of pre-pubescent boy sopranos who fear the inevitable onset of puberty when they must face the reality that they will, in fact, grow up. Award-winning composer/lyricist Bobby Cronin (Mary and Max, 'Til Death Do Us Part, The Concrete Jungle, Psykidz, and Till Soon, Anne) will give a concert featuring some of his favorite Broadway performers: Raymond J. Lee (Groundhog Day, Mamma Mia), Laquet Sharnell Pringle (Memphis, The Lion King), Vishal Vaidya (Groundhog Day, 1776), and Lauren Elder (Side Show, Hair) who starred in the world premiere of Bobby's Mary and Max musical in the fall of 2018. Come see this all-star cast! The evening will also feature recent college graduates Melody Portnoy and Tony LaLonde.
This month, Michigan State University is proud to welcome Crystal Skillman as a 2019 Guest Playwright in Residence for a week-and-a-half-long workshop on her new play Pulp Verite. This workshop will culminate in two readings free to the public on Thursday, February 21, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, February 24, at 3 p.m. Both readings will take place in Studio 60 at MSU Theatre, 542 Auditorium Road, East Lansing, Michigan.
Joshua Turchin will return to The Green Room 42 with his cabaret series, 'The Early Night Show with Joshua Turchin,' on February 10, 2019 at 2pm. Turchin has previously performed two successful shows, 'The Early Night Show at The Green Room' and the 'West End Lounge,' and regularly music directs and accompanies at The Green Room 42's (YOUNG) cabaret series. Mr. Cronin and Ms. Prugh will work directly with MFA Musical Theatre students and select undergraduate students to rehearse and present a staged reading of this new musical on Friday, November 9 at 4pm on the stage of the Don Powell Theatre on the SDSU campus. Professor Stephen Brotebeck will direct the reading with musical direction by Professor Robert Meffe.
