Manhattan Theatre Club presented its annual Spring Gala on Monday, May 19th at the New York Hilton and included performances from the season's best musicals.

Yesterday the winners of this years Drama League awards were announced. The awards ceremony was held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel (Broadway and 46th Street) in the Broadway Ballroom.

With the opening last night of the Manhattan Theatre Club's Top Girls, the 2007- 2008 Broadway Season officially comes to an end.

Broadway luminaries Bobby Cannavale, Cheyenne Jackson, S. Epatha Merkerson, Rosie Perez, Martha Plimpton and Patrick Stewart are the first performers to be named as honorary co-chairs for The 74th Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony and Luncheon on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 12noon at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square. The event will be hosted by Master of Ceremonies Harvey Fierstein, a past recipient of the Drama League's annual Distinguished Performance Award.

The new Broadway musical Passing Strange officially opened at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street) on Thursday February 28, 2008.

'Celebrity Autobiography: In Their Own Words,' the acclaimed, long-running L.A-based comedy sensation has taken New York by storm and has extended its run (Mondays at 7:30PM) through March 24 at The Triad Theater. Up-coming celebrity participants include Carson Kressley and Alan Cumming.

The Long Island Express-Plays, five one-act comedies set in and around Long Island written by Emmy Award nominate writer, producer and performer Eugene Pack will be presented in a special invite-only industry-reading hosted by The William Morris Theater Department. The reading, directed by Philip McKinley will he held on Monday, February 11 at 2PM in New York City.

The final performance of The Fire Dept Theatre Company's At War: American Playwrights Respond to Iraq is Monday, February 4 at The Bleeker Street Theatre, with special guests, Bebe Neuwirth, Bobby Cannavale, Denis O'Hare and more.

The Fire Dept will present an expanded and updated version of its acclaimed At War: American Playwrights Respond to Iraq, an evening of alternately moving, haunting, and funny material by noted and emerging American playwrights, woven together to present a kaleidoscope of views on the war. Featuring a rotating repertory of celebrity hosts and guest performers including Bebe Neuwirth, Josh Hamilton, Bobby Cannavale, Derek Phillips, Daniel Sunjata and Fire Dept company members David Strathairn, Janeane Garofalo, Gloria Reuben and Tony Award winner Denis O'Hare.

Manhattan Theatre Club's acclaimed Broadway production of Theresa Rebeck's Mauritius will conclude its extended engagement as scheduled on Sunday, November 25.

Additional events and participants were also announced today for Culture Project's ambitious 'A Question of Impeachment series,' which will gather the world's foremost thinkers, scholars and activists to explore the real case for impeaching Bush and Cheney.
