VYT's FREAKY FRIDAY Opens This Friday

Valley Youth Theatre (VYT) will open the final production in the theatre company's 30th season, Disney's Freaky Friday, The Musical, on Friday, June 14, at The Herberger Theater Center. The show will run through June 30. Tickets are available for purchase at www.vyt.com or by calling (602) 252-8497.

Nine Arizona Artists Create Awards For 38th Annual Governor's Arts Awards Honorees

Awards being presented to honorees at the 38th annual Governor's Arts Awards have been created by nine Arizona artists. Twenty-one 2019 Governor's Arts Awards finalists in seven categories have been selected from communities around the state. Honorees will be announced on Thursday, March 7 at the Renaissance Downtown Phoenix, 100 N. 1stStreet.

23 Finalists Named For 2019 Governor's Arts Awards

Twenty-three finalists from communities around the state have been selected in seven categories for 2019 Governor's Arts Awards, which will be presented at the 38thannual Governor's Arts Awards Dinner and Celebration on Thursday, March 7 at the Renaissance Downtown Phoenix, 100 N. 1st Street.

Valley Youth Theatre Opens New Play This Friday

Valley Youth Theatre (VYT) opens the only play of their 30th anniversary season, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, this Friday, February 8, at 7:00 pm, at Valley Youth Theatre.  In addition to opening night, public performances include Saturdays and Sundays, February 9, 10, 16, 17, 23 and 24 at 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm.

Fifty-nine individuals, arts organizations and advocates, small and large businesses and philanthropists from 19 communities statewide have been nominated for 2019 Governor's Arts Awards in eight categories.  Finalists in each category will be announced at an invitation-only Nominees Reception in February. The 2019 Shelley Award honoree will be announced in January.

Valley Youth Theatre Premieres Musical Addressing Discrimination

The Arizona premiere of Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical is presented by Valley Youth Theatre (VYT), October 12-28, at 525 North First Street, in Downtown Phoenix. This is the second production in the theatre's thirtieth season and the first time this new musical has been performed by a youth cast. Written by Douglas Lyons, Melvin Tunstall III and Greg Borowsky, it was inspired by the true events of civil rights pioneers Ruby Bridges and The Little Rock Nine and is produced by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing, (www.broadwaylicensing.com).

BWW Review: NEWSIES ~ VYT Opens 30th Season With A Spectacular Triumph Of Talent And Artistry!

This reviewer is in awe of what he saw opening weekend of Valley Youth Theatre's production of NEWSIES The Musical: A spectacular triumph of talent and artistry, all the more impressive because of the amazing young performers (ages 12 to 18!) whose versatility and range of technical proficiency is jaw-dropping. Kale Burr is terrific! Tony Spinosa's choreography is tremendous! So is the entire ensemble! An auspicious way to begin the company's 30th Anniversary Season! Runs thru Aug 26 at Herberger Theater Center in Phoenix.

This Friday NEWSIES Kicks Off VYT's 30th Season

As the first show of their 30th season, Valley Youth Theatre (VYT) will present the musical, Newsies, from August 10 through August 26, on Center Stage at the Herberger Theater Center.

Tony Spinosa Is Guest Choreographer For VYT's NEWSIES

Celebrated stage impresario, Tony Spinosa, has spent the past four weeks in the Valley, training nearly forty local performers to dance in Valley Youth Theatre's (VYT) upcoming production of, Newsies, running August 10 through August 26, at the Herberger Theater Center. The production is presented by Valley Toyota Dealers and sponsored in part by Edward Jones.  It is directed by VYT's Producing Artistic Director of 22 years, Bobb Cooper.

ANNIE Opens This Friday At Herberger

As the final show of their 29th season, Valley Youth Theatre (VYT) will present the universally beloved Annie, the Musical, from June 15 through July 1, at the Herberger Theater Center.
