Yellowjackets Come to NJPAC

New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents two-time GRAMMY-winning Yellowjackets, one of the most influential and durable groups in jazz fusion. Since they recorded their first LP together in 1980, the Yellowjackets have released 22 albums, earned 17 GRAMMY nominations, and become known internationally for their fluid fusion of smooth jazz, post-bop, R&B flavor, and more. 'For the past couple of decades, Yellowjackets fans have come to know that there's no categorizing their music,' says The New York Daily News. JazzTimes described the group as 'a perfectly combustible electric-acoustic outfit" that plays "smart, often challenging and unpredictable compositions."

The San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM) today announces the appointment of trumpeter Michael Rodriguez to its faculty. Rodriguez, a Grammy-nominated musician renowned for his artistry as a composer and instrumentalist, joins the cadre of high-profile faculty members in the Roots, Jazz, and American Music (RJAM) program, which welcomed its first class, composed of some of the world's finest young jazz musicians, in the fall of 2017.

Curated by Performances a la Carte, Jazz 'n Paz is back with their spring intimate jazz series of three concerts with some of Los Angeles' finest jazz musicians. Taking place on early Sunday evenings, this season's series opens March 11 with the internationally recognized Jennifer Leitham Trio; Lolly Allen & Friends on April 8; and on May 13, a blowout birthday bash with 2 + 1 + Bacharach.
