Dr. Neal Barnard, renowned physician, animal rights advocate, best-selling author as well as guitarist and composer, will host a special event celebrating the music of his band, CarbonWorks.
The winner of Surfside's fourteenth annual Playwriting Contest is John Lineberger, a resident of Brevard County for the past five decades, and a long-time actor and director with Surfside Players. In his play, I Wanted Wings, John, Katherine, and Mark struggle to come to terms with the death of their father, and to try to make sense of a kind, selfless man choosing to destroy himself with alcohol… until a surprise phone call sheds new light on his experiences on a B-17 'Flying Fortress' bomber in World War II, and how war changed him and ultimately the lives of the families of all of the crewmen he flew with.
