On Sunday, December 9th, 'Burgh Vivant will present a staged reading of the classic comedy play Auntie Mame, featuring 2013 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Performer of the Year Daina Griffith in the title role.  The evening will benefit 'Burgh Vivant's mission to promote arts and culture in Pittsburgh. 

City Theatre is excited to welcome the musical theater writing team of Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond back to Pittsburgh for A Holiday Homecoming. The pair met while studying at Carnegie Mellon and the cabaret marks their City Theatre debut. Fresh off the success of their work on the Disney Channel's VAMPIRINA, the duo will host a two night only event on the theater's main stage showcasing music from their award winning works including Dani Girl and Romantics Anonymous with a few holiday favorites sprinkled in. Music directed by Nick Stamatakis, A Holiday Homecoming will run on the City Theatre Main Stage, November 30 and December 1. Tickets are on sale now. 

The Allegheny River is not well known for its bountiful aquatic yielding, but travel just a little bit further north to the New Hazlett Theatre in Pittsburgh's North Side for a once-in-a-lifetime catch. Front Porch Theatrical's imagining of Big Fish synthesizes the best of Pittsburgh theatre into a musical that abounds with whimsical fantasies and heart-wrenching moments.

Based on the 1984 film, Footloose received four Tony Award nominations during its almost two year run in Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre. Get ready to "cut loose" with this Pittsburgh CLO premiere! When teenager Ren McCormack moves from the big city to middle-of-nowhere Bomont, where even dancing is against the law, he's in for a real case of culture shock. After falling for the preacher's daughter, Ren really shakes things up. When he and fellow rebellious teenagers defy authority and dare to dance, the result is a fast-paced rock 'n roll musical featuring the Billboard-topping hits "Footloose," "Let's Hear It for the Boy," "Almost Paradise" and "Holding Out for a Hero."
