TRUF Theater Company to Present NOT YOUR MAMA'S FAIRY TALES, 1/24-2/8

The TRUF Theater Company presents Not Your Mama's Fairy Tales or: In Real Life, Everything Sucks, a trilogy of one acts with an irreverent spin on classic fairy tales, January 24 - February 8 at The Chain Theater, 21-28 45 Road, Long Island City. Paramount Theatre Adds Larry the Cable Guy & More to 2013-14 Lineup

Last March, the Paramount Theatre, 23 E. Galena Blvd. in downtown Aurora, caused a big stir among its nearly 20,000 subscribers by revealing a blockbuster line-up for its 2013-14 Broadway Subscription Series: IN THE HEIGHTS (September 11-October 6, 2013); MISS SAIGON (October 30-November 24, 2013); 42ND STREET (January 15-February 9, 2014); and RENT (March 12-April 6, 2014).

Arvada Center Presents NO DOGS ALLOWED, 2/7-4/12

On Thursday, February 7 at noon, the Arvada Center opens the children's theater production No Dogs Allowed, written by Sonia Manzano ('Maria' from Sesame Street), music by Stephan Lawrence, lyrics by Billy Aronson and directed by Edith Weiss. The show will run February 7 - April 12, 2013. Performances are 10:00 a.m. and noon, most Tuesdays through Fridays, select Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. For specific show dates please check our website. Ticket prices range from $8 weekdays and $10 weekends and holidays for reserved seating. New Kids Series PEG & CAT to Premiere Fall 2013 on PBS

This fall, PBS KIDS will premiere PEG + CAT, a new animated preschool series that follows the adorable, spirited Peg and her sidekick Cat as they embark on adventures and learn foundational math concepts and skills. Co-creators Billy Aronson (Rent, Postcards from Buster) and Jennifer Oxley (Little Bill, The Wonder Pets!) have teamed with The Fred Rogers Company to bring young viewers a new way to experience math through Peg and Cat's relatable, and often hilarious, adventures. This multiplatform media property premieres this fall on PBS KIDS with a special one-hour broadcast of two back-to-back episodes, along with integrated online and mobile content. Each episode features fascinating stories in which Peg and Cat encounter a problem that requires them to use math and problem solving skills in order to move forward. The series will air daily following its premiere (check local listings).

Columbus Children's Theatre Presents NO DOGS ALLOWED!, 11/1-12

Columbus Children's Theatre will present the regional premiere of No Dogs Allowed!, November 1 - 11, 2012 at the Columbus Children's Theatre located at 512 N Park Street. No Dogs Allowed!, with Book by Sonia Manzano, Music by Stephen Lawrence, Lyrics by Billy Aronson and based on the book by Sonia Manzano, will be directed by William Goldsmith.

Producers Julian Schlossberg and Letty Aronson have announced that Caroline Aaron, Bill Army, Lisa Emery, Ari Graynor, Steve Guttenberg, Danny Hoch, Julie Kavner, Fred Melamed, Grant Shaud and Marlo Thomas will star in the ensemble cast of the world premiere production of RELATIVELY SPEAKING, three one-act comedies by the prolific writing trio of Ethan Coen, Elaine May and Woody Allen, and directed by John Turturro.

Filipino actor and Obie Award winner Arthur Acuña shares the stage with Michael Louis Wells and Charlie Hudson in Ensemble Studio Theatre's (EST) repeat of Qui Nguyen's 2007 one act dark comedy play Bike Wreck. The play is part of EST's "Marathon 2011: The 33rd Festival of 1Act Plays - Series A" running from May 20 to June 18 at the EST Theatre on West 52nd Street.

The 1950 Broadway hit THE LADY'S NOT FORBURNING receives a rare NYC production courtesy of new NYC-based company Parenthesis. THE LADY'S NOT FOR BURNING, written by Christopher Fry and directed by Bryan Close, begins performances on Saturday, May 21for a limited engagement through Saturday, June 11.

Friends, Fans and Family Honor Jerry Bock at American Airline's Theatre, 1/24

The American Airlines Theater will host a memorial celebration for the late Jerry Bock for family, friends and fans at 2:30pm on January 24, 2011. Bock's main lyricist, Sheldon Harnick will host the event, which will include appearances by Chita Rivera, Lonny Price, Hal Prince, Todd Haimes and more. The memorial will also include performances of Bock's most celebrated songs and accompanying commentary by original cast members of his shows. Larry Yurman will musical direct. Seating is open to the public and available on a first come, first served basis and doors open at 2pm.

Broadway to Dim Lights for Jerry Bock Tonight, 11/4

The Broadway community mourns the loss of Jerry Bock, who passed away yesterday at age 81. The marquees of Broadway theatres in New York will be dimmed in his memory tonight, November 4, at exactly 8:00pm for one minute.
