Photo Flash: Arvada Center Presents NO DOGS ALLOWED; Opening October 17

On Thursday, October 17 at noon, the Arvada Center will re-open the children's theater production No Dogs Allowed, written by Sonia Manzano ("Maria" from Sesame Street), music by Stephen Lawrence, lyrics by Billy Aronson and directed by Edith Weiss. The show will run October 17 - December 21, 2013. Performances are 10:00 a.m. and noon, most Tuesdays through Fridays, select Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. For specific show dates please check our website. Ticket prices range from $8 weekdays and $10 weekends and holidays for reserved seating. No Dogs Allowed will be Audio Described for the sight impaired November 5 at 10:00 a.m. and noon, and Shadow performed for the hearing impaired on November 6 and 7, at 10:00 a.m. and noon. Shadow- interpreted theater utilizes specially trained American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters to perform as "shadows" on stage alongside actors.

Leaving the Bronx for a day at the lake is a rare treat for Iris and her close-knit extended family. Despite Papi's instructions to pack light, Mami brings enough food for a week and Iris sneaks in the family dog - after all El Exigente is part of the family! The drive to the lake is filled with all sorts of misadventure, but the family finally arrives at their destination, only to discover there are ... No Dogs Allowed! Good humor prevails as everyone comes together to save the day in this warm and cheery family venture.
