New York Live Arts has announced the schedule for Live Artery 2014, a three-day event at New York Live Arts connecting dance and body-based artists with curators, presenters and the public. Presented during the annual Association of Performing Arts Presenters conference, Live Artery 2014 will feature two full remounts; excerpts from three new works and seven work-in-progress showings of New York Live Arts commissions; along with work-in-progress showings by the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company (New York Live Arts' Resident Dance Company) and Kyle Abraham/Abraham.In.Motion (New York Live Arts' Resident Commissioned Artist), offering no less than eleven public events.

New York Live Arts will present the world premieres of niv Acosta's i shot denzel and Tess Dworman's macromen during a shared evening of new work, January 30 - February 1, 2014, at 7:30pm.

Jacob's Pillow Dance, home to the longest-running international dance festival in the U.S., is accepting applications for its 2014 Summer Intern Program. 33 interns from around the world are selected, following a competitive application review and interview process, to help produce the field's most comprehensive and engaging festival of dance.

On Saturday, January 11, 2014 the National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) will host the organization's first Backyard Ball Performance and Gala to be held at the YoungArts Campus (2100 Biscayne Boulevard). The 2014 Arison Award Honorees are Pritzker Award Winning architect Zaha Hadid and Academy Award Winning singer, dancer, and actress, Rita Moreno. This year's Alumni Honoree is actor, singer and 1997 YoungArts Winner in Theater, Andrew Rannells. The celebratory evening of artistic immersion will bring together prominent artists, community leaders, philanthropists and celebrities to recognize the 2014 YoungArts Winners. The gala is YoungArts' largest annual fundraiser and the culmination of YoungArts' signature program YoungArts Week which provides 171 of the nation's most outstanding young artists in the literary, performing, visual and design arts with life-changing experiences, including master classes, workshops, inter-disciplinary activities, performances and exhibitions.

New York Live Arts today announced that its second annual Live Ideas festival, entitled James Baldwin, This Time!, will take place April 23 - 27, 2014, and will center on the enduring pertinence of the work of the American essayist, novelist, playwright and social critic. Spanning the course of five days, James Baldwin, This Time! will include lectures, panels, performances and a full range of artistic responses. The festival will launch 'The Year of Baldwin,' a year-long celebration featuring Baldwin-inspired programming presented by a number of cultural institutions around the city on the occasion of what would have been the writer's 90th year.

Susan Stroman and Wendy Whelan are set to host the 2014 Clive Barnes Awards, which will be held on January 6 (3pm), at the Walter Reade Theatre. This years' nominees for theatre are Aaron Clifton Moten for his performance in The Flick, Jonny Orsini for his performance in The Nance, Phillipa Soo for her performance in Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812, and Amber Iman for her performance in Soul Doctor. This year's nominees for dance are Talli Jackson (Bill T. Jones/ Arnie Zane Dance Company), Lloyd Mayor (Martha Graham Dance Company), Xiaochuan Xie (Martha Graham Dance Company), and Calvin Royal III(American Ballet THeatre.)

The National YoungArts Foundation today announced its 2014 YoungArts Winners. Out of approximately 11,000 applications, 687 young artists from 46 states have been recognized for their outstanding work and accomplishments in one of ten disciplines across the literary, performing, visual and design arts fields. New York Live Arts will present the second annual Lang Dance Fall Performance at New York Live Arts, this weekend, December 13 & 14 at 7:30pm.

In less than a month, hundreds of artists from around the world have joined Art Set Free, a global showcase from Arts Brookfield that aims to create the world's largest collection of public art. Ten of the most innovative artists have been chosen for the first Best of Art Set Free digital art installation, which debuts this week on the monumental video screen at Brookfield Place Winter Garden, formerly the World Financial Center, in Lower Manhattan.

The Little Orchestra Society presents Music Under the Big Top, an evening of entertainment and musical acrobatics for audiences of all ages at Damrosch Park, Lincoln Center on December 10, 2013. The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge and directed by Phyllida Lloyd, composed by Mel Mercier, with lighting design by Jean Kalman and Mike Gunning, set design by Chloe Obolensky and choreography by Kim Brandstrup, will play the BAM Harvey Theater (651 Fulton St), tonight, December 10 - 22, 2013 as part of the Next Wave Festival.

New York Live Arts will present Ellen Robbins' Dances by Very Young Choreographers in the New York Live Arts Theater today, December 7 at 2:00pm and December 8 and 1:00pm and 4:00pm. The evening will feature a mélange of witty and intriguing original dances, created and performed by Robbins' students ages 8 - 18.

Jonathan Groff will make his Ravinia debut tonight, December 7th of this year, in Bennett Gordon Hall. For this performance, Jonathan Groff will be accompanied by Mary-Mitchell Campbell on the piano.

Atlantic Theater Company's ATC Uncovered is celebrating the 7th anniversary of SPRING AWAKENING on Broadway. The musical began at the Atlantic before transferring to Broadway, and stars Lea Michele, Jonathan Groff, John Gallagher, Jr., Lauren Pritchard, Lilli Cooper, Remy Zaken and more gathered at the theater on December 2nd to talk about thriving in an intimate space, performing a 'formative' project at such an important part of their lives, and what they want to collaborate on next. Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will kick off a five-week holiday season tonight, December 4thwith a star-studded gala benefit performance at New York City Center and party at the New York Hilton Midtown Grand Ballroom. 27-time Grammy award-winning music icon Quincy Jones and actress Gabrielle Union will serve as the evening's Honorary Chairs.
