In partnership with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association, the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts and Concert Theater Works, Music of the Baroque presents the Midwest premiere of “The Chevalier,” a new concert theater work written and directed by Bill Barclay.

Music of the Baroque continues its 2021-2022 season with five glorious concert programs February-May 2022.

The Cleveland Orchestra’s 2022 Family Concert Series supported by the Weiss Family Foundation returns to the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Concert Hall at Severance, after a hiatus during the 2020-21 season due to the pandemic.

The National Symphony Orchestra will continue its Classical series this December with two subscription programs, both led by Music Director Gianandrea Noseda. The programs feature masterworks by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Sebastian Bach, and George Frideric Handel.

Charity Wakefield, currently appearing in Morgan Lloyd Malcolm's all-female Emilia, is the first woman to play William Shakespeare on the Globe stage.

The final new production in The Winter Selection at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse is a daring masterclass in puppetry from Gyre & Gimble. They have used Max Richter's recompositions of Vivaldi's classic 'Four Seasons' concertos as a basis to tell an original story about 'life, death and renewal', focusing on the human angle rather than nature, taking the audience on an adventure with them. It will play alongside Emma Rice's The Little Matchgirl and Other Happier Tales to close the season.

Simon Jones (The Real Thing, Benefactors), will join the cast of the Shakespeare's Globe production of FARINELLI AND THE KING on Tuesday, January 9, playing the role of opera impresario John Rich. Colin Hurley, who was scheduled for a limited run in the role, will play his final performance as John Rich on Sunday, January 7.

The critically acclaimed Shakespeare's Globe production of Farinelli and the King, starring three-time Tony Award-winner (Twelfth Night, Jerusalem, Boeing-Boeing) and Academy Award-winner (Bridge of Spies) Mark Rylance, begins tonight, December 5, 2017 in advance of an opening night on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Broadway's Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street).
