An Evening of Classic Broadway returned to Upstairs at Vitello's for Mother's Day, where it launched 5 years ago. Headed by Brad Ellis and Dianne Fraser, this was a family show entitled A Classic Broadway Mother's Day, with performers appearing and performing with sons or daughters On tap were Nita Whitaker with her lovely daughter Skye LaFontaine, Tami Tappan Damiano with her son Dante Damiano, Karen Benjamin and her daughter Molly Chapman, Bill A. Jones, the only father, with his daughter Samantha A. Jones, and of course, individually and together, hosts Fraser and Ellis.

Jones, known to thousands of cheering fans as Rod Remington of Fox TV's Glee, brought his one-man show Frank, Bobby & Me to the E-Spot Lounge at Vitello's in Studio City. This man is not only handsome with an affable charm onstage, but can truly sing these old standards with a smooth delivery and the fine easy-going style that they deserve. The packed SRO crowd would surely agree. Backed by three stellar musicians, musical director Paul McDonald at the keys, Steve Pemberton on drums and Kurt Smith on bass - known as Paul McDonald the A Players - for 90 minutes the 'joint was really jumpin' '.

On last night's episode of Glee titled 'The End of Twerk,' Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) and Paolo (guest star Ioan Gruffudd) rehearsed 'You Are Woman, I Am Man' from Broadway's 'Funny Girl.' This season, Berry was cast in a fictional Broadway revival of the classic show.
On last night's episode of GLEE titled 'The End of Twerk,' the Glee club learned the dance of the hour: twerking. Meanwhile, Marley discovers Jake's relationship with Bree, and Rachel (Lea Michele) tries to convince Kurt they both should get tattoos.
Glee fans will recognize TV news anchor 'Rod Remington' played by Bill A. Jones, but he's also an accomplished singer who'll perform his show "The Great Gentlemen Of Song" on Sunday, October 27th as the closing show of the Sundays In Summer Cabaret Series presented by Les Michaels at the Arthur Newman Theater in Palm Desert. Joining Mr. Jones will be musical director Steve Rawlins and his trio. It also marks the final show of the 5th successful season, which has been invited back next year and to begin one month earlier, in April, and run through October.
