Minneapolis Musical Theatre today announced the full cast and crew for its area premiere of The Great American Trailer Park Musical, the first production in its 'Great, Big, Surprising 10th Anniversary Season.'
With his hit show, The Marvelous Wonderettes, still going strong in New York and having just opened in Chicago, writer/director Roger Bean took a break this weekend to come check out the first regional production of his work here in Coral Gables at the Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre.
Audiences left the Miracle Theatre humming classic 50's and 60's tunes and still smiling from the on-stage antics of the four-girl wonder act at the Opening Night of Actors' Playhouse's production of The Marvelous Wonderettes on October 2nd.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) seeks submissions for the 9th Annual TRU VOICES New Musicals Reading Series (deadline: August 22, 2009). TheTRU VOICES New Musicals Reading Series is a unique series created to support producers who have an interest in developing new musicals. Shows selected will receive staged readings to be presented on consecutive Monday evenings in December 2009 at The Players Theatre, 115 MacDougal Street (below W. 3rd Street), NYC.

Audiences were treated to a riotous musical about the mayhems of matrimony in the upstairs balcony theatre while Actors' Playhouse received a special gift from long-time sponsor American Express, a $20,000 check in support of the Theatre.

In a series that is unique because it develops new producers as well as new plays, three works were chosen from submissions by emerging or established producers, as well as from writers who hoped to be matched with a producer. Fulfilling TRU's mission of nurturing the producer-writer relationship, each of the plays this year is either produced by, or with the assistance of, a member of the TRU Producer Mentorship program.
