Peak Performances Announces 2019-2020 Season And WNET/ALL ARTS Partnership

Peak Performances announces its 2019-2020 season, considering the vocabularies of the body, genre and form, artistic practices and legacies, cultures, and language itself-how they persevere, disappear, or shift over time with new influences and perspectives. This season, Peak Performances offers its state-of-the-art platform to artists who work with-and sometimes against-these established vocabularies in the creation of exhilarating new performance works and the reinvigoration of preexisting texts, compositions, and choreographies. All performances take place at the Alexander Kasser Theater (1 Normal Ave, Montclair, NJ 07043).

Odyssey Opera Announces 2019-20 Season

One of the nation's most adventurous opera companies, Odyssey Opera, today announced the company's 2019-20 season featuring concert and staged operas about the great English dynasty of the 16th century: the Tudors. Celebrating its seventh season, Odyssey Opera brings the drama of this famous family to life through six productions including the world premiere of Arnold Rosner's The Chronicle of Nine. Benjamin Britten's Noye's Fludde comes to Theatre Royal Stratford East, in a co-production with the English National Opera, opening on Wednesday 3 July. This rarely performed one act opera is directed by Lyndsey Turner, and for the project, 120 East London Primary school children, 70 young musicians from East London, and an adult community choir have come together with professional opera singers and musicians.

The little OPERA theatre of ny will present a FREE concert of scenes from American operas in collaboration with Bronx Opera and operamission on Saturday, June 22, 2019. The concert will showcase the diversity of music and stories written for the opera stage by both native born and immigrant composers and librettists. The concert will take place outdoors on Governors Island in Nolan Park, in front of building 25. The performance is at 5pm and is FREE to the public. (Rain date: Sunday, June 23 at 4pm.)

From June 24 through July 21, HPAF will present nearly 20 public performances at a number of notable island venues from Kona to Hilo, featuring both student and faculty artists.
