The Stella Adler Studio welcomes Louis Jenkins for a poetry reading on Friday, December 12 at 1:00 pm. The reading is presented by The Harold Clurman Center for Poetry, Poetic Drama and the Spoken Word and is free and open to the public. Jenkins will read from his latest book, European Shoes (Will o' the Wisp Books), which was released this month. Jenkins will also be available to sign copies of the book.

Circle in the Square Theatre (Theodore Mann, Artistic Director and Paul Libin, Managing Director) has joined Culture Project as producer of the upcoming New York production of The Atheist, presented by Culture Project (Allan Buchman, Artistic Director). The dark comedy, written by Ronan Noone, directed by Justin Waldman and starring Campbell Scott as 'Augustine Early,' began performances at Culture Project's temporary new home, Barrow Street Theatre, on Tuesday, October 7th and has an official opening night Sunday, October 12.

The Stella Adler Outreach Division provides free actor training to New York City pubic school students who might not otherwise be able to afford it. The Outreach Division offers year-long instruction to these aspiring artists with the same intensity and integrity of all the Studio's other learning tracks. The program also addresses at-risk youth's need to have a safe place to find and express their voices.

Award-winning actress Phylicia Rashad will be a guest speaker for the Harold Clurman Lecture Series at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting on Monday, June 9, 2008.

The evening benefits The Stella Adler Studio of Acting's scholarship programs, inner-city outreach and facilities expansion. The event's co-chairmen, Michael Medavoy, Roy Scheider and Benicio Del Toro head a committee of luminaries from the worlds of theater, film, television and business, many of them alumni of the famed school.

The stately Samuel Tilden Mansion on Gramercy Park, home to The National Arts Club (NAC) was the setting for an elegant soiree for the committee, sponsors and friends of the upcoming Stella by Starlight Gala to benefit the scholarship and outreach programs of The Stella Adler Studio of Acting. The Gala will be held at The Pierre Hotel, November 8.
