Liza Minnelli Films Inside the Actors Studio on December 5, Show Expected to Air in Early 2006

On Monday, December 5, 2005 Liza Minnelli will be filming an episode of 'Inside the Actors Studio' to air on Bravo TV. A limited number of tickets are available, but only to Pace students, faculty and staff members. The show will be filmed at Pace University's Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts, a 743-seat theatre — located on Spruce Street between Park Row and Gold Street, near the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge. No air date has been announced as of yet for the show, but it's expected that it will be in early 2006.

Minnelli is the winner of three Tony Awards, an Oscar, a Golden Globe and an Emmy (for "Liza with a Z"). She won a Theatre World Award for Best Foot Forward, Tony Awards for Flora, the Red Menace and The Act, and a Special Tony Award in 1974. She was nominated for an Oscar for The Sterile Cuckoo, and won the Oscar and the Golden Globe Award for the film version of Cabaret, directed by Bob Fosse. The daughter of Judy Garland, her other Broadway credits include The Rink, Chicago and Victor/Victoria, and she has also been seen on film in New York, New York, Arthur and others.

For more than eleven years , James Lipton has sat down with more than 180 of the world's most accomplished artists – ranging from actors and directors to musicians and comedians - for penetrating, fascinating interviews. Lipton's studious research and enlightened curiosity has inspired his guests to open up and confess their deepest thoughts about their craft.

The series premiered with Paul Newman, an Actors Studio alumnus and former president (1982-1994). Jackson, Sir Ian McKellen, Pierce Brosnan, Juliette Binoche , Martin Scorcese, Edward Norton, Julianne Moore, The Cast of "The Simpsons," Nicholas Cage, Renee Zellweger, Tom Cruise, Russell Crowe, Angelina Jolie and Al Pacino to name a few.

Hosted by Pace University, each episode is taped before an audience of students at the Michael Schimmel Center of the Arts and is now broadcast in 125 countries. In addition to his duties as host and executive producer, Lipton is also the Dean Emeritus of The Actors Studio.
