The Off-Broadway League recently announced nominations in 18 categories for the 30th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. The Lortel Awards are being handed out tonight, Sunday, May 10, 2015 at NYU Skirball Center beginning at 7:00 PM EST, and BroadwayWorld will be updating the winners as they are announced!

The Off-Broadway League today announced nominations in 18 categories for the 30th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. Due to box office demand, Theatre for a New Audience is extending its fourth production of the 2014-2015 season, Fiasco Theater's The Two Gentlemen of Verona by William Shakespeare, directed by Jessie Austrian and Ben Steinfeld, for two additional weeks through Sunday, June 7, at Polonsky Shakespeare Center, 262 Ashland Place. The Two Gentlemen of Verona opened on April 30.

Tonight before a crowd of 1,200 theatre-makers and theatre-lovers at the historic Lincoln Theatre, theatreWashington celebrated excellence on Washington stages at the 2015 Helen Hayes Awards. The awards celebration was a night of excitement and surprise as 57 Washington theatre artists, theatres, and ensembles received honors in 47 categories for their outstanding accomplishments during the 2014 theatre season. The Off-Broadway League today announced nominations in 18 categories for the 30th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. The Lortel Awards will be handed out on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at NYU Skirball Center beginning at 7:00 PM EST, and hosted by Emmy-nominated actors Anna Chlumsky (“Veep,” Broadway's Living on Love) and Jesse Tyler Ferguson (“Modern Family,” this summer's The Tempest). This year's event will once again benefit The Actors Fund.

Theatre for a New Audience, Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director, will present as its fourth production of the season the New York premiere of Fiasco Theater's The Two Gentlemen of Verona by William Shakespeare, directed by Jessie Austrian and Ben Steinfeld, beginning previews at Polonsky Shakespeare Center, 262 Ashland Place, on Friday, April 24, at 7:30pm for an opening on Thursday, April 30, at 7:00pm. The Two Gentlemen of Verona runs through May 24.

As if Into the Woods by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine wasn't a challenging enough piece in the musical theater cannon, Fiasco Theater decided that they would take it on as their latest project, performing it with only 10 actors who also play their own instruments. The success of the production brought it from the McCarter Theater Center in Princeton to The Old Globe in San Diego and finally to Roundabout, at The Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre, where it currently is playing to critical acclaim through April 12.

Roundabout Theatre Company will conclude its limited engagement of the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway production of Stephen Sondheim & James Lapine's Into the Woods, on April 12, 2015.

Last night at the 13th Annual Craig Noel Awards in San Diego, CA, Fiasco Theater's critically acclaimed production of Into the Woods won the Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Touring Production. The ceremony was held at the Museum of Contemporary Arts in La Jolla, CA.
