The Burning Coal Theatre Company is proud to present Sue Townsend's The Great Celestial Cow, a tale of a family from India who migrate to the UK but can't quite leave their homeland behind. Or their cow. Directed by Sonia Desai, The Great Celestial Cow will play at Burning Coal's Murphey School Auditorium in downtown Raleigh from April 11th through 28th, 2019. There will be a "pay what you can day" on Sunday, April 14th.
First Flight presents the Chicago premiere of a play by Maxwell Anderson: The Masque of Queens. Presented as a staged reading and featuring 13 actors, The Masque of Queens' one-time performance is a benefit for Chicago's Season of Concern, an organization that helps Chicago theatre professionals in times of need. Shakespeare's Globe is delighted to announce the Summer Season 2019. Celebrating and interrogating our 'sceptred isle' through Shakespeare's history plays, a year-long journey begins with Richard II, opening 22 February in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, continuing into the Globe Theatre this summer with Henry IV Parts 1 and 2, and Henry V. The season also includes A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Ben Jonson's Bartholomew Fair, and the return of 2018's As You Like It. Robin Hood tales will form the core of the Read Not Dead series this year, and festivals throughout the summer include Women & Power and Poland is Hamlet. This year's Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank production will be Romeo and Juliet, opening on 28 February, with 20,000 free tickets available to state secondary schools. The Shakespeare's Globe Touring Ensemble will once again present a trio of plays for the audience to choose from: The Comedy of Errors, Pericles, and Twelfth Night.
Mark Campbell is a DC native, and librettist of 28 operas, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning opera 'Silent Night,' which is currently playing at the Kennedy Center. Campbell has also written a number of musicals, and is currently working on multiple projects.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival invites audiences to enjoy two plays by William Shakespeare-plus one about saving his words and securing his legacy-under the stars when its flagship outdoor theatre opens the weekend of June 15-17, 2018.
