Texas Performing Arts opens the 2015-2016 season with Grammy Award-winning pianist/composer Billy Childs' Map to the Treasure: Reimagining Laura Nyro featuring vocalists Dianne Reeves, Becca Stevens, and Alicia Olatuja, tonight, September 10 at Bass Concert Hall. The Cordova Quartet, the Butler School of Music's graduate quartet, will perform with Childs and his band for this special performance that delves into the expansive catalogue of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame singer/songwriter Laura Nyro.

NJPAC & Concord Music Group Accepting Entries for 4th Annual Sarah Vaughan Competition Through 9/14

The Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition is the world's most visible jazz vocal competition of its kind and provides a platform for one outstanding female singer to launch a career in the music industry. The competition started in 2012 and was co-produced by NJPAC and JAZZ ROOTS, a Larry Rosen Production. Jazz fans are invited to review and vote for entries online; then five finalists are selected for a live performance at NJPAC as part of the TD James Moody Jazz Festival, where a panel of expert judges decides the recipient of the SASSY Award.

Tickets for the West End production of Motown the Musical, opening at the Shaftesbury Theatre in February 2016, are released for sale today (15 May 2015).  With music and lyrics from the legendary Motown catalogue and book by Motown founder Berry Gordy, Motown the Musical is directed by Charles Randolph-Wright.  London previews will begin on 11 February 2016 with press night on 8 March 2016 with the show booking to 22 October 2016.  Casting and further information about Motown the Musical will be released shortly.
