Contestants in LA's Next Great Stage Star competition had an exciting second week on Sunday, January 12th. The theme for this round was Breaking New Ground - A Little New Music, and featured songs from some of today's most up and coming musical theatre writers.

George Street Playhouse's Educational Touring Theatre will present a performance of the world premiere musical Austin the Unstoppable, by Barry Wyner and Daniel Israel, today, November 3 at 2 pm. The performance is geared toward students in grades 3-8 and lasts approximately 60 minutes, including a post-play workshop.

Some of the biggest names on Broadway have graced the Joe's Pub stage. The tradition continues this month and into the fall when some of Broadway's finest vocalists and performers, including Sasha Allen and Ute Lemper, head downtown from the Great White Way to dazzle at Joe's.
Barrington Stage Company, under the leadership of Julianne Boyd, Artistic Director, and Tristan Wilson, Managing Director, presents a workshop production of the new musical The Black Suits with music and lyrics by Joe Iconis and book by Joe Iconis and Robert Emmett Maddock. The Black Suits is part of Barrington Stage's Musical Theatre Lab, William Finn, Artistic Producer. Directed by John Simpkins, choreographed by Jennifer Werner, with musical direction by James Sampliner, The Black Suits is currently running through September 2 at BSC's St. Germain Stage (formerly Stage 2). The event will be held in the 30th Floor Media Room of BMI's New York office at 7 World Trade Center/250 Greenwich Street tonight, April 26, at 5:30PM and is open to members of the entertainment industry as well as Workshop members. Reservations are a must: Ssantana@bmi.com or 212 220-3177. Running time is 70 minutes.
