Contestants in LA's Next Great Stage Star competition had an exciting second week on Sunday, January 12th. The theme for this round was Breaking New Ground - A Little New Music, and featured songs from some of today's most up and coming musical theatre writers.

The York Theatre Company presents new addition to its educational arm: Bespoke Musicals, a program that pairs teams of emerging writers, chosen by The York Theatre Company, with companies of students from musical theatre college training programs. For its maiden voyage, The York will be collaborating with Marymount Manhattan College.

George Street Playhouse's Educational Touring Theatre will present a performance of the world premiere musical Austin the Unstoppable, by Barry Wyner and Daniel Israel, today, November 3 at 2 pm. The performance is geared toward students in grades 3-8 and lasts approximately 60 minutes, including a post-play workshop.

The full cast featured on the recording, including Noah Weisberg (Legally Blonde, South Pacific), Krystal Joy Brown (Leap of Faith), David Hull (Wicked) and Dana Steingold (Spelling Bee), reunited at Joe's Pub the evening before the release - last night, September 24, 2012 at 7pm - to celebrate the album release with a special concert event.

Just added to the concert lineup are Curt Hansen (Next to Normal), F. Michael Haynie (Dogfight), Hayley Podschun (Chaplin), and Tony nominee Tim Jerome (Tarzan, Me and My Girl). Some of the biggest names on Broadway have graced the Joe's Pub stage. The tradition continues this month and into the fall when some of Broadway's finest vocalists and performers, including Sasha Allen and Ute Lemper, head downtown from the Great White Way to dazzle at Joe's.

Barrington Stage Company, under the leadership of Julianne Boyd, Artistic Director, and Tristan Wilson, Managing Director, presents a workshop production of the new musical The Black Suits with music and lyrics by Joe Iconis and book by Joe Iconis and Robert Emmett Maddock. The Black Suits is part of Barrington Stage's Musical Theatre Lab, William Finn, Artistic Producer. Directed by John Simpkins, choreographed by Jennifer Werner, with musical direction by James Sampliner, The Black Suits is currently running through September 2 at BSC's St. Germain Stage (formerly Stage 2).
