Bay Street Theater announces the success of its 23rd Annual Summer Gala, chaired by longstanding patrons of the theater and the arts, Christine Wachter-Campbell & Bill Campbell, and Pia & Jimmy Zankel, which took place in Sag Harbor at the Long Wharf last weekend on July 12, 2014 to benefit Bay Street's Scott Schwartz New Directions Fund, which supports a myriad of new programming initiatives and educational offerings. Bay Street Theater presents the World Premiere of MY LIFE IS A MUSICAL (July 29-August 31).This musical comedy book, music and lyrics by Adam Overett, will be directed and choreographed by Marlo Hunter. Bay Street Theater's Curtain Up! event was held last night at Joe's Pub in New York City. It was Bay Street's 3rd Annual Spring Honors Benefit, which this year honored Bonnie Comley and Stewart Lane, and Pia and Jimmy Zankel. Bay Street Theatre presented its Second Annual Steinbeck Festival in Sag Harbor on May 1-4, 2014, in conjunction with the annual celebration held by the National Steinbeck Center based in Salinas, California. Activities to honor John Steinbeck's contributions to our community featured events including thre days of films, a VIP waterfront cocktail party where guests enjoyed short boat excursions to view Steinbeck's home from the water, and the Second Annual 'Travels with Charley' Dog Walk, in partnership with the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation. Bay Street Theatre has announced that Scott Schwartz, a leading voice of the next generation of American theater, has joined Bay Street as its new Artistic Director. A special welcome party was hosted last evening by Bonnie Comley and Stewart Lane at a private club in New York City to celebrate his arrival and to introduce him to Bay Street Theatre patrons and members of the Broadway community of actors, directors and producers. Bay Street Theatre welcomed Joy Behar, Susie Essman, Julie Halston, Angela LaGreca and Mercedes Ruehl to the stage as they performed a night of comedy, song and original artistic pieces for the Broads for Bay Street as a benefit for the theatre to raise money for its summer and educational programs. Bay Street Theatre held its Second Annual Honors Benefit on Saturday, April 27 at East Hampton Point, hosted by funny-lady and Bay Street Thatre Board Member Joy Behar. This year the honorees were Hampton's Hometown Heroes including David Bray, Ana R. Daniel, Michael Grim and James Osburn. All four of the honorees support Bay Street as well as many other local businesses & non-profits in the Hampton's Community. The event is held Spring each year, not only to recognize outstanding patron involvement, but also to raise funds for its theatrical and educational programs. Off-Broadway's acclaimed DR2 Kids Theatre continued its partnership with Theatreworks USA -- the nation's leading not-for-profit professional theatre for young audiences and present 'Rabbit Season' at the DR2 Kids Theatre!, which kicked off yesterday, February 10, 2013. BUNNICULA: A Rabbit Tale of Musical Mystery, features a book by legendary New York playwright and Tony Award nominee Charles Busch (The Tale of the Allergist's Wife), music by Sam Davis and lyrics by Drama Desk nominee Mark Waldrop (When Pigs Fly). Scott Adsit, Chris Bauer, Edie Falco, Dayle Reyfel, and Kyra Sedgwick all starred in a benefit staged reading of Drama Desk Award winner and Emmy nominee Eugene Pack's new comedy, Columbus and Amsterdam, on August 17 at 8pm at East Hampton's Guild Hall. The evening benefited Guild Hall and The Felix Organization/Adoptees For Children whose mission is to enrich the lives of children growing up in the foster care system.

Bay Street Theatre showed the Hamptons a fantastic party last Saturday, July 21, 2012 at its annual Rock The Dock Summer Benefit Bash. The evening kicked off with a cocktail hour and silent auction, while guests arrived dressed to party on the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor. Special guests included Bay Street Board Members Chris Bauer (True Blood) and Broadway, film and television actress Mercedes Ruehl; Tony Award winner and star of the upcoming BIG MAYBELLE: SOUL OF THE BLUES Lillias White, and the show's writer and director Paul Levine, and more.
