For a decade, Bound for Broadway has been letting audiences know about some of the best new shows currently in development. This 10th Anniversary Celebration at Kaufman Center's Merkin Concert Hall will feature four new musicals and then revisit some of the great shows featured over the past 10 years, including the 2010 Pulitzer Prize winner NEXT TO NORMAL, AVENUE Q, MUSICAL OF MUSICALS and THE DROWSY CHAPERONE.

Village Theater presented their "Village Originals 10th Annual Festival of New Musicals" over the weekend presenting 6 new musicals from up and coming writers and composers. Fostering the advancement of new works, the festival boasts the early stages of shows that have gone on for full mainstage runs ("The Gypsy King", "Chasing Nicolette", "Stunt Girl", "Iron Curtain") as well as a few which have recently gone on to Broadway runs ("Million Dollar Quartet" and the Pulitzer and Tony Award winning "Next to Normal"). So getting in at these early stages is a real treat and you never know what future hit smash you might see.

On Monday, April 26th, New York Theatre Barn will present its monthly showcase for emerging writers and performers at the D-Lounge at the Daryl Roth Theater, which will feature the music of Barbara Anselmi, songs from the 2009 NYMF production of All Fall Down, and songs from NYTB's commissioned musical Speargrove Presents.

After a sold out sold out performances at the Laurie Beechman Theater & Don't Tell Mama this past fall, the Joe Allen Players will reprise Broadway Bombs complete with the latest bombs, little known flop facts, new cast members, new stories, new songs and, of course, more Carrie...The Musical. The performance will take place at Don't Tell Mama - 343 West 46th Street.
