Jazz pianist and MacArthur 'Genius' award recipient Jason Moran and internationally acclaimed, Chicago-based visual artist Theaster Gates premiere their new work, Looks of a Lot, in a Symphony Center Presents Jazz series concert tonight, May 30 at 8 p.m. Influenced by Chicago stories from various eras, the project represents the second commission by Symphony Center Presents Jazz series and is also a part of the CSO's Truth to Power Festival, offering an exploration of transformative music composed during some of the most challenging chapters of history.

Well, recently three members of the SISTER ACT First National Tour decided to liven up life on the road by creating 'Sunday Intermission Covers.' Every Sunday, Ashley Moniz, Chris Cooke, and Tad Wilson quickly change costumes and then set up in front of a camera to sing a new, stripped down song. Today, Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) released its 2014 Congressional Pig Book, the 22nd edition of the group's exposé on pork-barrel spending. The Festival Transameriques announced today the cancellation of Helen Lawrence by Stan Douglas because an agreement could not be agreed upon between the producers, Canadian Stage, and the Canadian Actors Equity Association. The play was set to be the opening piece of the festival in Montreal on May 22, 23, and 24 at La Place des arts' theatre Jean-Duceppe.
