S&Co Announces Interim Director For Center For Actor Training

Shakespeare & Company recently appointed Susan Dibble as Interim Director for the Company's Center for Actor Training. Dibble, a Founding Member of Shakespeare & Company, is an educator and artist. Her movement work was seen on stage this past season in Twelfth Night and for the past four decades she has been faculty member for the training program, teaching at the Month Long Intensive, Summer Shakespeare Intensive (formerly the Summer Training Institute), and various workshops.
New York Classical Theatre's ROMEO AND JULIET Moves To Rockefeller Park/Battery Park City For 'Take A Seat' Week

After a successful run in Central Park, playing to over 4,000 people, performances resume on Wednesday, June 27 in Rockefeller Park/Battery Park City for New York Classical Theatre's critically acclaimed production of Romeo and Juliet, directed by the company's Founding Artistic Director Stephen Burdman. The production will play this week through June 30, before continuing on to The Battery, Carl Schurz Park, and Brooklyn Bridge Park for performances through July 29. There is no ticketing, and all performances are free and open to the public. Performance schedule can be found at newyorkclassical.org.
Steve Blanchard Joins The Cast Of Off Broadway's PERFECT CRIME

Steve Blanchard, well known as Broadway's longest running Beast in Disney's Beauty and the Beast has joined the cast of Off-Broadway's longest running play, PERFECT CRIME. Mr. Blanchard is already playing Detective Ascher, replacing Richard Shoberg in the role.

New York Classical Theatre (Stephen Burdman, Artistic Director), New York City's only all-free professional Off-Broadway theatre company, is pleased to announce a new production of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to celebrate its 19th Anniversary Season. The production, directed by Mr. Burdman, is the company's first staging of Shakespeare's tale of star-crossed lovers, and will be presented in five New York City parks - Central Park, Rockefeller Park/Battery Park City, The Battery, Carl Schurz Park and Brooklyn Bridge Park - with performances from June 5 through July 29 at 7:00 PM. There is no ticketing, and all performances are free and open to the public. New York Classical Theatre also invites audiences to experience unique behind-the-scenes access to open rehearsals on selected dates for each of the five park stagings.

La Luna Productions has announced that it will present GHOST LIGHT: THE HAUNTING, based on Yotsuya Ghost Tales, the Kabuki play inspired by the legend of a horribly betrayed woman named Oiwa. Written by award winning playwright, Carol Fisher Sorgenfrei and Produced and Directed by Emmy Award Winning Penny Bergman, the production previews begin on October 23rd with a special opening night performance on Halloween evening at midnight and will continue through November 8th at TBG Theatre, 312 West 36th St. in Manhattan.
