BWW Feature: BANGING LANIE's Allison Powell Goes Live Tonight on Facebook

BANGING LANIE is a 21st century John Hughes-style comedy starring Allison Powell that explores what happens when a girl takes her virginity into her own hands. The film is currently raising funds on Kickstarter and tonight at 7pm PST/10pm EST, Powell will go LIVE on Facebook in what promises to be a hilarious and eye-opening conversation.

LUNA GALE Comes to Capital Stage This Fall

Capital Stage continues its 2017-18 Season: Future Tense with the Sacramento Premiere of Luna Gale by Award Winning Playwright Rebecca Gilman. This 2015 Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award Winning play tells the story of a fight for who and what is best for the future of baby Luna. Luna Gale will be the second production of Capital Stage's 13th Season, and will run from October 18 - November 19, 2017.

Sierra Stages Presents A PLAY IN A DAY for Children Ages 7-15

Sierra Stages is pleased to present "A PLAY IN A DAY", a unique one-day children's theatre workshop on Saturday, September 30 at the Sierra Stages Rehearsal Studio in Nevada City. Kids will experience the excitement of producing a play from start to finish - in just one day! New Temptations Musical AIN'T TOO PROUD Extends at Berkeley Rep

Due to an overwhelming demand, Berkeley Rep has announced that the world premiere musical of Ain't Too Proud-The Life and Times of The Temptations will extend for two additional weeks. Originally scheduled to close on October 8, the popular musical will now run through Sunday, October 22.

LUNA GALE Comes to Aurora Theatre Next Month

Aurora Theatre Company opens its 26th season with Rebecca Gilman's (Blue Surge, Spinning Into Butter, The Sweetest Swing in Baseball) LUNA GALE. Aurora Artistic Director Tom Ross directs this powerful and arresting Bay Area Premiere, featuring Jamie Jones (Edward Albee's A Delicate Balance, Mud Blue Sky, Gideon's Knot), Laura Jane Bailey (Mud Blue Sky), Devin S. O'­Brien (Mud Blue Sky), Joshua Marx (TheatreWorks), Alix Cuadra (Theatre of Yugen), Kevin Kemp (Shotgun Players), and Jennifer Vega.  LUNA GALE plays September 1 through October 1 at the Aurora Theatre in Berkeley. B Street Theatre Announces WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf is Edward Albee's first Broadway production and is considered now to be a contemporary American classic. Opening on Broadway on October 13, 1962, and starring Uta Hagen and Arthur Hill, the original productions received both critical acclaim and public scorn for its confrontational characters, bitter philosophy on love, and realistic quality on an aging couple with a dark past.

Scarlett Strallen, Esau Pritchett, and John Lavelle Lead Cast for A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM at Hartford Stage

Hartford Stage Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak and Managing Director Michael Stotts announced today the cast and creative team for William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by Tresnjak. The comedy, which runs September 7 through October 8, opens Hartford Stage's 2017-18 season. Actors Scarlett Strallen, Esau Pritchett, and John Lavelle lead the distinguished cast.

Cast Complete for New Temptations Musical AIN'T TOO PROUD at Berkeley Rep

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full casting and creative team for the world premiere of AIN'T TOO PROUD-THE TEMPTATIONS MUSICAL. The musical stage production will be directed by Tony Award winner Des McAnuff. Berkeley Rep presents the show by special arrangement with Ira Pittelman and Tom Hulce (American Idiot, Spring Awakening).

B Street Theatre Presents BLOOMSDAY

Bloomsday was commissioned by the ACT theatre in Seattle, Washington and premiered there in September of 2015, where it received rave reviews. The play has received further productions throughout the country: the Ensemble Theatre in Cincinnati, Ohio, Austin Playhouse in Austin, Texas, and the Next ACT Theatre in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The NNPN RWP of HALFTIME WITH DON Kicks Off at New Jersey Rep This Saturday!

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, celebrates the launch of the Rolling World Premiere Halftime with Don by Ken Weitzman at New Jersey Repertory Company. The play will receive a total of three distinct NNPN RWP productions in a 12-month period, rolling through Core Members New Jersey Repertory Company (Long Branch; June 24-July 30, 2017), Phoenix Theatre (Indianapolis, IN; October 25-November 19, 2017), and B Street Theatre (Sacramento, CA; 2018). Halftime with Don was a finalist for the 2015 National Showcase of New Plays and is NNPN's 65th Rolling World Premiere.

The Skivvies' Nick Cearley to Lead AN ACT OF GOD at B Street Theatre

A series of tweets on the parody account @TheTweetofGod landed American comedy writer David Javerbaum a book deal. Eventually that book, The Last Testament: A Memoir By God, was adapted for the stage and renamed as An Act of God. The stage version premiered at Broadway's Studio 54 Theatre in 2015 with Big Bang Theory sitcom star Jim Parsons in the leading role. A second run featured Will & Grace's Sean Hayes in the leading role, and now the B Street Theatre will give the holy role to Nick Cearley (Buyer & Cellar).

B Street Theatre's Mainstage Presents HAND TO GOD

Hand to God premiered at the Ensemble Studio Theatre in New York City in October 2011 and returned in February 2012. It opened Off-Broadway at the Lucille Lortel Theatre on March 14, 2014 and made its Broadway debut at the Boothe Theatre on April 7, 2015.

THE SKIVVIES to Perform Live at B Street

The Skivvies are Lauren Molina and Nick Cearley, singer/actor/musicians performing stripped down arrangements of eclectic covers and eccentric originals. Not only is the music stripped down - cello, ukulele, glockenspiel, melodica - but the Skivvies literally strip down to their underwear to perform.
