Feature: BANGING LANIE's Allison Powell Goes Live Tonight on Facebook Image

BANGING LANIE is a 21st century John Hughes-style comedy starring Allison Powell that explores what happens when a girl takes her virginity into her own hands. The film is currently raising funds on Kickstarter and tonight at 7pm PST/10pm EST, Powell will go LIVE on Facebook in what promises to be a hilarious and eye-opening conversation.

From the campaign materials: "She's your typical high school teen. Ok, not that typical. Typical is boring and Lanie is anything BUT boring. She's just never been in love. Or had a crush. Or a kiss. Or even awkwardly danced with a boy during that slow song. Then one day, BAM! She sees a guy and she *gasp!* likes him. Suddenly Lanie's life is turned upside down and she rushes to catch up to everyone else in the world who knows what the heck you do when you make out with someone!

The idea came from the mind of writer, producer and star Allison Powell, who is somewhat *cough cough* A LOT, like Lanie. In fact, most people who read the script think they are a lot like Lanie. Who didn't feel a bit out of step in High School? Allison has been working on this project for over a year and is bouncing off the walls to share the story with the world!

What happens when a girl wants to explore her body and have sex? Does it make her Superbad? Or SUPERAWESOME?"

Check out BANGING LANIE on Kickstarter HERE and get in on the action!

After college she moved to San Diego and honed her budgeting and scheduling skills as a project manager. Three years later Lauren began her master's program in producing at Chapman University. She received her MFA in May 2017.
