An initial roster of artists and performers have been announced for the inaugural YI Love New York YiddishFest. Produced by the Yiddishkayt Initiative (YI) (Avi Hoffman, Producing Artistic Director) and Theater for the New City (Crystal Field, Artistic Director), the nine-day festival celebrates the legacy of the Yiddish language and its impact on entertainment and culture with readings, concerts, film screenings, lectures, panel discussions, and famous personalities in the world of Jewish culture from December 21-29. Indecent, Paula Vogel's warm, poignant, powerful play that resurrects the playwright Sholem Asch and the journey of his groundbreaking 1907 work, God of Vengeance, opens Palm Beach Dramaworks' nineteenth season on Friday, October 19 (8pm) at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre.

Florida Repertory Theatre's 2018 PlayLab Festival of New Plays and Emerging Voices kicks off May 3 with six new play readings, the world premiere production of last year's festival winner, 'George Washington's Teeth' by Mark St. Germain, a Playwright's Panel discussion, and a Keynote Address by alumna playwright, Daryl Lisa Fazio.

She will be joined by her son, Avi Hoffman, the award-winning actor & performer, with special musical guest, Randi Fishenfeld. The evening will include a multi-media presentation, discussion, Q&A & book signing. The event, which is co-sponsored by the University of Miami/Miller Center for Contemporary Judaic Studies, will be FREE & open to the public.

Renowned actor Avi Hoffman will star in the South Florida premiere of Reflections of A Lost Poet. Reflections will run at The Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center's (MAR-JCC) Cultural Arts Theatre (JCAT) from Wednesday, December 13 through Sunday, December 24, 2017.

Due to popular demand, Avi Hoffman's Too Jewish? will be returning to South Florida. The performances will take place at PGA Arts Center in Palm Beach Gardens, from Wednesday, December 27 through Sunday, January 21, 2017.

The theatre and music world lost a great friend and mentor with the passing of Michael Larsen, who was instrumental in shaping the careers of many stars of theatre, film and television. Larsen died suddenly on Thursday, October 26, 2017, after suffering with a heart condition for many years. He was 57.

The PGA Arts Center will present I Will Survive: Soundtracks of the 70's beginning October 18th. The production will run through November 19th at the increasingly popular Palm Beach Gardens venue.
