The world premiere of Miss Manhattan, a brand-new musical inspired by the tragic true story of Audrey Munson—America’s first supermodel—will take the stage in Boulder, Colorado, this fall. Presented by 19K Productions, LLC and CenterStage Theatre Company, the production will run from September 19–28, 2025, at the Grace Gamm Theater at the Dairy Arts Center.
New York City Opera's 2017/2018 season will offer four new mainstage productions at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Rose Theater, including a Spanish-language opera as part of its Ópera en Español series. City Opera will also offer two New York City Opera Concerts in Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall and a chamber opera series at locations to be announced. New York City Opera Orchestra will be featured in every opera.
Tulsa Opera, one of the nation's most veteran regional opera companies and an historic incubator of rising vocal talent, has appointed Tobias Picker as its new Artistic Director effective June 1, 2016. Picker, who has been hailed by The Wall Street Journal as 'our finest composer for the lyric stage,' will collaborate with General Director/CEO Greg Weber on overall artistic vision for the company, selection of repertoire and production teams, and casting of singers.
New York City Opera General Director Michael Capasso today announced the 2016-17 season of City Opera, a full season of new productions, concerts, and presentations for the "people's opera." New York City Opera will offer five operas (including a double bill) at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Rose Theater; two chamber operas, including a Spanish baroque work at Harlem Stage as part of its O?pera en Espan?ol series, and New York City Opera Concerts at The Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center. New York City Opera Orchestra will be featured in every opera and concert.
