“Roman Holiday” is a sweet confection of a show for sure, though in its present form, it lacks the meaty bite needed to make it a Broadway special.

The pre-Broadway engagement of ROMAN HOLIDAY - The Cole Porter Musical, is premiering as part of SHN's 2017 Season this summer. Newcomer Stephanie Styles and Broadway favorite Drew Gehling (Waitress) will take on the iconic roles portrayed by Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck in the classic film, and Tony Award nominee Jarrod Spector (Beautiful) and TV and stage star Sara Chase ('Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt') will round out the principal casting.

Daniels will sit down with playwright and Drama Book Shop Events Manager Steven Carl McCasland for an intimate conversation about his life on stage and off.

Marking an incredible milestone of presenting 'stars under the stars,' the HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival presented by Bank of America with Swedish Fish, JLL, WeWork, and Time Out in association with Bryant Park Corporation, celebrates its 25th Anniversary with a New York themed line-up. The free outdoor festival returns Monday evenings at sunset, beginning June 19 and running through August 21.

On June 9th in Los Angeles, Profiles in History will auction off 50 rare Disney theme park cast member attraction costumes. It is the largestcollection to ever be offered at auction. Highlights include, a five piece Haunted Mansion gothic style costume, pictured left, and a four piece, Haunted Mansion, gothic style maid costume, each is estimated to sell for $900 - $1,500. Costumes from almost every Disney attraction are included like, Pirates of the Caribbean, Hall of Presidents, Tomorrowland, Animal Kingdom and they are each estimated to sell in the range of $100 - $800.

The Garden Theatre is pleased to announce the 2017 Summer Movie Series, running from June 15 through August 5 at the Garden Theatre (160 West Plant Street, Winter Garden).  This summer's line-up includes 28 feature-length films: Thursday Vintage Favorites and movie marathons as part of the new Big Screen Binge Series. Shortly before performances began for MY FAIR LADY at Lyric Opera, I had the opportunity to sit down with Lisa O'Hare (Eliza Doolittle) and Bryce Pinkham (Freddy Eynsford-Hill) for a conversation backstage at the opera house. O'Hare and Pinkham are no strangers to working together, as they both originated roles in the 2014 Tony Award-winning musical A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER. Pinkham in fact revealed that one of the reasons he signed on to MY FAIR LADY was to have a 'front-row seat' to see O'Hare's take on Eliza, a role she has performed previously in the West End and in a 2008 U.S. national tour. While dressed in street clothes but still wearing faces full of stage makeup, O'Hare and Pinkham chatted with me about what it's been like to reunite, why they're excited to be involved in this staging of Lerner and Loewe's classic musical, and how it feels to perform on the Lyric stage. Tickets go on sale this week for the world premiere of the Broadway-bound new musical Mean Girls, with a book by nine-time Emmy Award winner Tina Fey, based on her screenplay for the Paramount Pictures film; music by three-time Emmy Award winner Jeff Richmond ('30 Rock,' 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt'); and lyrics by Tony Award nominee Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde). Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon, Something Rotten!) directs and choreographs.
