BWW catches up with real-life besties Ian Stroughair and Eliza Jackson about the shows they've brought to the 2018 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Comedy legends Steve Martin and Martin Short, musical legends Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys, Multi-platinum artists Barenaked Ladies, and Broadway classic Cinderella are just a few of the many shows heading to a stage near you in Huntington, WV as part of the 82nd Marshall Artist Series!

Gettysburg Community Theatre (GCT) the not-for-profit 501c3 community theatre located at 49 York Street in historic downtown Gettysburg, will present a musical perfect for the whole family, A Year With Frog And Toad, based on the children's books by Arnold Lobel. The performances will be 8pm Fridays and Saturdays and 2pm Sundays August 10-26, 2018 and tickets are available online at www.GettysburgCommunityTheatre.org or by calling 717-334-2692. Tickets can be purchased at the door if there are seats available. A Year With Frog And Toad is GCT's All-Senior Citizen Cast production for 2018. Each actor is retired or semi-retired ages 55+ and enjoys rehearsing during the day, which then allows the theatre to be available for other rehearsals in the evening of working adults and school children. Past Senior Citizen productions at GCT have been Fiddler On The Roof, Once Upon A Mattress, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and Nunsense. This production is made possible in part by grants from the Cultural Alliance of York County, The Robert C. Hoffman Trust held by the Adams County Community Foundation, and the Adams County Arts Council's Star Grant.

Robert Wagner, the handsome and debonair actor and one of the most popular and successful stars in the entertainment industry, has been named to be the recipient of the Gold Coast International Film Festival's second annual Burton Moss Hollywood Golden Era Award. Regina Gil, founder and executive director of the Gold Coast Arts Center and its Gold Coast International Film Festival, announced the selection along with members of an advisory board that included such noted celebrities as Joel Grey, Larry King, Richard Thomas, Edwina Sandys, Mrs. Anthony Katherine Quinn, Tippi Hedren, Greg Mullavey, Carole Shelley, Angie Dickinson, Diane Baker, Stefanie Powers and Constance Towers Gavin.

In 1928, George Gershwin composed 'An American in Paris' inspired by the time he spent there. It wasn't until 1951 that An American in Paris hit the movie screen starring Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron as directed by Vincente Minnelli.

BWW chats to Eliza Jackson about bringing The Voice Behind The Stars to the 2018 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

English playwright and screenwriter Frederick Knott, though a reluctant writer, is known for his ingeniously complex, crime-related plots even though he only completed three plays in his career. Two have become classics: the London-based stage thriller Dial M for Murder, which was later filmed in Hollywood by Alfred Hitchcock, and the chilling 1966 play Wait Until Dark, which also became a Hollywood film starring Audrey Hepburn as a blind woman terrorized by thugs in her basement apartment. His third play, WRITE ME A MURDER, has never achieved the same acclaim nor been performed nearly as much as his other two hit plays. See it now at Theatre Palisades, directed with attention-grabbing skill by Michael-Anthony Nozzi.

Cannes' Critic Week saw the premiere of this year's newest Carey Mulligan movie, Wildlife: a shattering, 1960s-set drama in which she co-stars alongside Jake Gyllenhaal?. In it, she plays a woman who cheats on her husband. 'It's the kind of warts-and-all role that are usually reserved for men,' Mulligan said, according to Variety. However, prior to the film's fall release, Mulligan is getting back onstage and starring in Girls & Boys, a one-woman show that recently opened at the Minetta Lane Theatre after a sold-out run in London.

Sarasota Opera's Da Capo Society, the only young patrons group, ages 21 - 45, dedicated to a single arts organization in Sarasota, will host The Wizard of Oz themed costume contest Thursday, June 7th at 6pm to celebrate the launch of the new season of "Classic Movies at the Opera House." Launched in 2017, the "Classic Movies at the Opera House" series will occur twice monthly starting Thursday, June 7 and will include timeless films designed to be enjoyed on the big screen in the elegance of the Opera House. World-renowned piano virtuoso Mona Golabek returns to Hartford Stage for a limited engagement of her inspirational show, The Pianist of Willesden Lane. Back by popular demand, The Pianist of Willesden Lane will run Thursday, July 12, through Sunday, July 22, for 13 performances only. Tickets will be available for sale on Saturday, May 19.
