On last night's premiere episode of the new NBC variety series MAYA AND MARTY, Savion Glover and the cast of SHUFFLE ALONG performed 'The Pennsylvania Graveyard Shuffle,' from the new Broadway musical.

The New York Drama Critics' Circle just announced its 2015-2016 Best Play and Best Musical: Stephen Karam's THE HUMANS and George C. Wolfe, Eubie Blake and Noble Sissle's SHUFFLE ALONG, OR THE MAKING OF THE MUSICAL SENSATION OF 1921 AND ALL THAT FOLLOWED.

The director/bookwriter tells the story of a groundbreaking 1921 musical that has since been reduced to a footnote.

A re-imagined version of the 1921 musical SHUFFLE ALONG, one of the earliest stage hits starring, written and directed by African-Americans, opens tonight, April 28, on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre. SHUFFLE ALONG has a new book and is directed by George C. Wolfe, choreographed by Savion Glover. The producers of SHUFFLE ALONG are offering this low-priced ticket as a thank you to the musical's enthusiastic fans who lined up outside the Music Box Theatre's box office from Monday, March 21 to Thursday, March 24 for the chance to purchase same-day $40 rush tickets, but who were unable to do so since those performances were cancelled as a result of the illness of Audra McDonald, one of the musical's stars.

Wolfe, choreographed by Savion Glover, and stars six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald, Tony Award winners Brian Stokes Mitchell and Billy Porter, and Tony Award nominees Brandon Victor Dixon and Joshua Henry, heading a cast of 34. Opening night is Thursday, April 28 at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45 Street).
