Dancap Productions will present IN THE HEIGHTS, winner of four 2008 Tony Awards® - Best Musical, Best Music and Lyrics, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations, as well the 2008 Grammy® Award for Best Musical Show Album - at the Toronto Centre for the Arts, through February 19, 2012.

According to the Toronto Star, Toronto's Dancap Productions has just announced the line-up for 2012. Included in the upcoming season are In the Heights (February 7-19), Shrek the Musical (March 20-April 1), West Side Story (May 8-June 3), Beauty and the Beast (July 3-22), Million Dollar Quartet (July 20-29), and Prince of Broadway (August 2012)

JERSEY BOYS, the Tony and Olivier Award winning Best Musical, will make its Vancouver debut in September, 2012 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

Dancap Productions presents SHREK THE MUSICAL with book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori. It will play the Toronto Centre for the Arts, March 20- April 1, for two weeks only.

Producers Aubrey Dan, Martyn Hayes and Peter W. Lamb for Dancap Productions Inc., today announced that PRINCE OF BROADWAY, the new musical celebrating legendary Broadway director and producer Harold "Hal" Prince will open directly on Broadway in November 2012 and will forgo the pre-Broadway engagement in Toronto.

American Idiot launched its National Tour in Toronto last night at the Toronto Centre for the Arts, and BWW was on hand to capture photos from the pre-show press event and the post-show after party. The show runs until January 15th in Toronto.

Memphis opened in Toronto this past Wednesday at the Toronto Centre for the Arts. Hometown boy Sergio Trujillo came up from the Great White Way to celebrate with Dancap President Aubrey Dan and the Tony Award from when the show won Best Musical in 2010. Sergio Trujillo has had a meteoric rise to success in the world of choreography, at one point having an unprecedented four shows on the Great White Way at the same time. Raised in Toronto, he ventures back North this month to attend the opening night of the Tony Award Winning musical Memphis. Sergio spoke to BWW about the appeal of the show, balancing multiple shows, his dreams for Flashdance and his hopes for the future of musical theatre in Toronto.

On Sunday night the stars of Toronto's musical theatre scene came out to pay tribute to Des McAnuff as he received an honourary doctorate from Ryerson University for his contribution to the arts over the last few decades. Including cast members from the original Toronto production of Jersey Boys and the current Stratford Festival production of Jesus Christ Superstar, the evening was filled with good music and fantastic tales from Des' extraordinary life. PRINCE OF BROADWAY, a new musical celebrating legendary Broadway director and producer Harold 'Hal' Prince, is in development now, aiming for a Toronto production in the summer of 2012, prior to opening on Broadway that fall. According to the Toronto Star, the production will feature a wide variety of material, including music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Stephen Sondheim..
