The Hermitage Artist Retreat has announced four new community programs in May with Hermitage Fellows specializing in music, writing, multimedia, and theater, including an event with Tony Award-nominated playwright Bess Wohl (Grand Horizons, Small Mouth Sounds).

Nathan R. Matthews is producing and performing in a concert for The Riverside Opera Ensemble at Merkin Hall at the Kaufman Music Center on May 16th. Tony nominee Christiane Noll (Ragtime) and Grammy winner Edward Parks (The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs) will headline the concert of new music by Dreamworks composer Drew Fornarola and Matthews himself.

TFANA will present Alice Childress’s Wedding Band. Director Awoye Timpo’s new staging, running April 23–May 15, brings Childress’s masterpiece to New York audiences for the first time since 1972, when it made its New York premiere in a production directed by Childress and Joseph Papp.

Signature Theatre has extended the New York premiere of Dominique Morisseau’s Confederates, directed by Stori Ayers to April 24. The production, running in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 W. 42nd Street, New York), opened March 27.

Lincoln Center Theater has announced its upcoming production of Epiphany, a new play by Brian Watkins, directed by Tyne Rafaeli.  Epiphany will begin previews Thursday, May 19 and open on Thursday, June 16 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street). 

North Carolina Theatre has announced the full cast for Ring of Fire with music and lyrics by Johnny Cash directed by Randy Redd, who was a part of the Original Broadway cast of Ring of Fire.  Performances will run from April 29 – May 8 at A.J. Fletcher Opera Theater at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh.

Atlantic Theater Company will present their 2022 Gala, Let's Party!, on Monday, May 9, 2022 at Loeb Boathouse at Central Park. This year, Atlantic is celebrating the first season back on their stages following the 18-month shutdown due to the global pandemic.

The Atlantic Theater Company is set to stage the world premiere production of The Bedwetter, a new musical with a book by Drama Desk Award winner Joshua Harmon and Emmy Award winner Sarah Silverman. The show features lyrics by Emmy Award winner Adam Schlesinger and Sarah Silverman, music by Adam Schlesinger, choreography by Byron Easley, and direction by Lucille Lortel Award winner Anne Kauffman.

Based on the bestselling memoir of the same name, The Bedwetter will begin performances on Saturday, April 30th and will open Monday, May 23rd for a limited engagement through Sunday, June 19th, 2022 Off-Broadway at the Linda Gross Theater (336 West 20th Street).

The Public Theater and National Black Theatre announced complete casting today for the upcoming New York Premiere of FAT HAM written by James Ijames and directed by Public Theater Associate Artistic Director and Resident Director Saheem Ali.

Soho Rep, in partnership with The Sol Project, will present Notes on Killing Seven Oversight, Management and Economic Stability Board Members, written by Mara Vélez Meléndez, in her Off-Broadway debut, and directed by David Mendizábal.

Emmy & Tony Award winner Laurence Fishburne, Academy Award & Golden Globe winner Sam Rockwell and Emmy Award & Golden Globe winner Darren Criss will star in the Broadway revival of David Mamet's American Buffalo, directed by Neil Pepe (Speed-the-Plow, A Life in the Theatre). Performances for American Buffalo will begin today, March 22, 2022.

Every Monday at 5:30pm I enter the Google Building in New York City through a pair of gigantic glass double doors. This ritual upon first examination appears grossly quotidian, but upon further, much deeper reflection it occurs to me that there was I time I felt like buckling at the knees at the very thought and anticipation of what awaited me behind those slender silver studded doors.

Seattle Rep announced that Tony-nominated leading man Jarrod Spector has been cast in the highly anticipated role of Steven Spielberg in the world-premiere production of BRUCE.

In celebration of the Broadway premiere of Martin McDonagh’s Olivier Award-winning and New York Drama Critics' Circle Award-winning new comedy Hangmen, select orchestra and mezzanine tickets will be available for the first three performances (Friday, April 8, Saturday, April 9, and Monday April 11) for $19.65, the year play takes place. 

Voted Best Comedy for Couples, Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man, presented by Matt Murphy and Shawn Nightingale, has announced the cast for its Chicago debut. The show will star Adam Fane as Dan, Emma Jo Boyden as Robyn, and Bradley Allen Meyer as Stefan.

PlayCo today announced the cast and creative team for its first in-person production since the fall before the pandemic: the U.S. premiere of Ebru Nihan Celkan’s Will You Come With Me?, directed by Keenan Tyler Oliphant, May 4-June 5 at MITU580.

The Broadway premiere of Olivier Award-winning and New York Drama Critics' Circle Award-winning Royal Court Theatre/Atlantic Theater Company production of Martin McDonagh's new comedy Hangmen will bow at Broadway's Golden Theatre beginning performances Friday, April 8, 2022, and opening Thursday, April 21, 2022, for a limited 10-week engagement.
