Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia Announces 2017-18 Season at the Kimmel Center

A founding resident company of The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia (COP) announces its 2017-2018 Season. From September 2017 through May 2018, the Chamber Orchestra will perform six programs as part of its subscription series. All six concert pairs will be performed in the Kimmel Center's intimate Perelman Theater.

From ABC's “Dancing with the Stars” to Carnegie Hall, audiences have been delighted by the high-energy virtuosity of Time for Three. The trio will offer a blend of jazz, folk, classical, and pop in a concert at the Cooperstown Summer Music Festival on Sunday, August 20 at 7:30 pm at the Otesaga Hotel. Time for Three — Nicolas (Nick) Kendall, violin; Charles Yang violin; and Ranaan Meyer, double bass — perform mash-ups of hits by the Beatles, James Taylor, Mumford and Sons, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, and more, as well as original arrangements.

An eclectic lineup is featured this month at Blue Note Hawaii with an array of iconic national artists, local favorites and hilarious comedians. The Henry Kapono Artist to Artist Series continues with Jerry Santos of Olomana, followed by local greats Shawn Pimental and Lehua Kalima, one-man wonder Tavana, Kapono N??ili?ili, Brother Noland and of course the incomparable Willie K. The Blue Note Hawaii Comedy Series continues this month with Steve Byrne and Louie Anderson. National recording artist and GRAMMY Award-winning R&B icon Regina Belle kicks off the month and is book ended with a capella phenoms Take 6. More artists this month include bandoneon player JP Jofre and his Nuevo Tango Quartet, the amazing flamenco guitarist Ottmar Liebert and pop singer-songwriter Eric Hutchinson. There are also two late-night shows with self-proclaimed blues road dog G Love, following his performances at the sold-out Jack Johnson concerts.
